Poison Ivy
Justice League (Alex Ross) Series 3, DC Direct, 2006

Alex Ross is arguably one of the most gifted artists ever to work with Superheroes. What he has done with Poison Ivy is simply breathtaking. It?s enough to make one take up gardening.

Impressive detail. The paint is great for something so detailed. The leaves and vines run up and down the body are hard plastic molded to the skin. Some of them on the right leg and left shoulder turn to soft rubber as the hang off the body. They are two tones of green with darker green for the leaf veins and highlights in her hair.

SPECS:

The figure stands 7 1/8 inches tall and has 10 points of articulation (head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees) and comes with a large display base.

PROS:

It?s a new approach to Ivy?s look and quite the departure from the spandex she?s normally seen in. While it?s certainly provocative, it?s the piercing green eyes that really set the look off for me.

CONS:

Articulation is never a big deal with a styled figure like this. The head is ball jointed, but due to the hair can only look down and only just slightly to either side. She will need the base to stand with only one foot flat on the ground. You may even consider gluing her to the stand just to keep the figure upright.

OVERALL:

The Justice League designed by Alex Ross is one of the best DC Direct lines in awhile. With a fourth series of figures coming later in 2006 it is one of the most prolific too. The style and quality has been really good lately as well it should considering these are collector figures. Like most of the rest of the series, this one is a must have.

I have the feeling that just maybe Alex Ross could have came up with
a knock out design for Poison Ivy but just held back...

I really do not like this Adam and Eve look...

It makes the action figure look as if some could customize a Barbie doll with some weeds from their back yard...

Thumbs down on this one...::ivy::::yellowno::::yellowno::

Also the review was good and informational...

Thanks...::yellowwinksmile::

Nice review. I'm not sure I'd consider this my favorite Poison Ivy look, but it is very interesting and I'll make it a point to get her. I honestly never knew Ross painted her like this until seeing the press release photos of the figure.

I was wanting to do a Heroes vs. Villains display where they run at each other, but I don't think I'll be adding her to that. From a frontal view, she has a great looking stance, but the side, in-motion view just seems odd to me.

That box should have this:

WARNING:
This toy should be "played" with by men, old and dirty. Parents should stray their kids away from this figure as fantasies might emerged.

You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.
