Earth 2 Robin
Crisis On Infinite Earths Series 1: DC Direct, 2005. SKU# 24804

Crisis On Infinite Earths pretty much was like DC Comics pressing a big Reset Button. It was a 12-part mini-series that featured and affected nearly every DC character and in one broad sweep it redefined the DC universe. It ran from early 1985 and concluded in 1986, it was a crossover, and its events affected most of DC's titles.

In DC Comics, the Multiverse was multiple fictional versions of the Universe that existed in the same space, separated from each other by their vibrational resonances. Each Universe in this Multiverse was a bit different from the others, with different versions of DC charcaters in both subtle and not so subtle ways. The Multiverse was destroyed in Crisis On Infinite Earths.

Earth 2 was home to DC's Golden Age heroes, in this world, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman began their careers as adults. As an adult, the Earth 2 Robin continued the battle against crime, until he died during the final battle against the Anti-Monitor.

SPECS:

The figure stands 6 1/4 inches tall and has 14 points of articulation (head, neck, shoulders/biceps, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees) and a rubber cape. It comes with a Crisis On Infinite Earths base.

PROS:

The neck has the same ball-joint articulation as other DC Direct figures, something I think all figures should have. The ball-jointed shoulders are really good on this figure too. The sculpt is good, smooth and not overly detailed.

CONS:

The articulation is good, typical for DC Direct. The Spray Ops were horrible, at least on the figure I got. It almost has a ?dirty? look to the red and there was an odd splotch on the front of the right calf, like it was nicked in the Spray Mask. There was bleed on the boots and they look like not enough paint was used to cover them.

The figure does not seem balanced well enough to stand for long. It tends to lean and the peg in the base does little to keep it upright.

OVERALL:

It?s not a bad Robin figure, but certainly not the best either. It?s worthy of being picked up by Hardcore Batman collectors, or fans of the Crisis On Infinite Earths series but other figure collectors will more than likely pass on it.

I'm thinking I just may get this entire series of figures. A fun story with lots of first edition figures. I like the glossy green and gloss black mask. But that really is pathetic how he can't even stand worth a crap on his base. A lot of my First Appearance figures are like that, and they continue to lean forward, loosening the knee joints while doing so.

I like how you have bigger front and back images of the card, as opposed to smaller ones of past reviews. Another great addition.
