Batman Begins, Collector Edition: Mattel, 2005 #H1279

This is THE Batman figure to have! Simply put this figure is the best Batman of it?s size ever produced and it?s what Mattel should have released in the first place.

Based on the Deluxe Power Tek figures this Batman figure is essentially an Electro Strike Batman with Battle Gear Batman arms. The added articulation and overall better quality set it apart from the rest of the line.

SPECS:

The figure stands just short of 5 1/2 inches tall and has 17 points of articulation (head, shoulders, elbows, chest, waist, hips, knees and ankles) in a Rubberized Batsuit with Poseable Cloth Cape with wires in the outside seams. He comes with only a folding Batarang.

PROS:

The better articulation of the Power Tek figures and the more realistic Batsuit make this a winner. I?m not quite sure about the ?Rubberized Batsuit? to me it seems to be a type of paint rather than actual rubber. The figure has articulation at mid chest, just below the Bat (see picture below), this something quite rare on Batman figures especially in this scale.

The figure also boasts Ball Joint shoulders rather than Cut Joint style of the standard figures. They are much better and have a better range than some other figures with these type of shoulders.

CONS:

I don?t like the articulation at the hips. They should have been more of a Ball Joint like many of the Marvel Legends figures. When you spread the legs apart too much, they look a little odd with that large cut out in the upper inside thigh.

The only bad thing about it is that it?s NOT at Retail. Originally released Overseas, this is now a Wizard Exclusive. How many they have and how long will it be available is hard to tell.

OVERALL:

This figure is awesome. I can?t stress that enough. It?s certainly a must have by any Action Figure collector. Thankfully, Wizard picked this figure up making it a bit easier and less expensive to get.
