DC Comics released this teaser image with no infomation whatsoever on what its about. Newsarama got this image under the subject "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction..."
Now that makes sense for Superman crying, but look at who else is in the pic:
- Red Robin from Kingdom Come
- An Elseworlds Batman wearing a dashing, pantsuit
- Donna Troy back as Wonder Girl
- And bodies, LOTS of bodies. Max Lord, Beetle, Jade, and The Question.
Could this due to the Camelot Falls arc from Superman, the events foretold in JSA #2, or is this DC's next event?
We'll find out soon enough.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

If you were Superman, wouldn't you want to cry? Like right THERE! |

For new or layman fans on this board, Kingdom Come is an Elseworld story that takes place in the future. I have yet to read it since I only have two issues of it. And some of the dead bodies have already died within the previous year during Infinite Crisis while others have yet to in current continuity. I'm not keeping up with 52 lately, so I could be missing some information.
Batman's baggy costume looks Arabian as does his sword. Also note that the Statue of Liberty has been destroyed in the distance while the group of characters sit on her decapitated head far from the still-standing body.
Almost every character looks to be in a moment of dispair as Superman cries in failure. However, Batman almost appears to have a smirk on his right cheek, but I suppose it's possibly that that's just a poorly drawn expression. It's odd that those bodies are all there, as some died a while back, but I suppose this piece could be more of a figurative expression of recent events rather than one literal event in itself.

The design on Batman's costume is some-what of a look that
his future son would be like or Ra's A'l Gul wears...
Just my guess...:p
The give away was the cape and the arabian sword...

The head twisted around character is Maxwell Lord. He died in the Sacrifice story arc. Just to run across the bottom:
SPOILERS AHEAD
Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) died in the Countdown to Infinite Crisis oneshot.
Max Lord (see above)
Jade died in the Rann/Thanagar War oneshot that was released during the Infinite Crisis.
The Question died this week in 52 #38
These deaths are from the 4 major parts of the Infinite Crisis: Countdown, the lead up miniseries, the Crisis itself, and 52. I don't see the 7 issues miniseries as the total story.
A teaser ad for the 52 before it was released was "Look to the Skies." All the characters, except for Superman and Wonder Woman, are looking up. Darkseid and Apokolips have had nothing to do with the recent events, but with Mr. Miracle and Big Barda on the poster something may be coming. Darkseid did not really make his move until the end of the Crisis on Infinite Earths so he may be moving soon.
Kyle Rayner and Donna Troy have been together in the past. With Jade gone, there is potential for them to be able to stay together without the issues of the previous love triangle. I don't know why Donna Troy would be back in her old costume. Maybe it is because that one is easier to draw than the starry one.
Red Robin from Kingdom Come. Big spoiler here. In a recent DC Nation column, Dan Didio wrote a coded message that gave some of the conclusion to 52. It was decoded HERE to say: "The secret of fifty two is that the multiverse still exists." Kingdom Come was an Elseworlds story, which is essentially the Multiverse in the modern Post-Crisis on Infinite Earths continuity. We could be seeing characters appearing from all over the place in the coming months.
Green Arrow and Black Canary. In 52 #37, Their conversation had some hints that there was still love between them. They are also both part of the new Justice League, so we will see.
That Flash costume is Barry Allen's (horizontal belt instead of the angular one that Wally wore). I want to say that in Infinite Crisis when Bart returned he had Barry's suit on, but in the new Flash series he is wearing a suit similar to Wally's. I am not really sure which way this one is going to go.
Things have been very up in the air in the Marvel family recently so, who knows what is going to happen with them. I would guess that Mary Marvel will become Captain Marvel.
Just taking the cape and the sword into account Batman is very Ra's al Ghul looking. When I first saw this I thought it was from the Elseworlds where Batman is a medieval knight, but the Ra's al Ghul thing seems more reasonable to me now. Last time we saw Bruce Wayne he was in the desert in the Middle East. I could see him being taken in by the League of Assassins (name changed to Shadows in Batman Begins).
So much has happened with Wonder Woman, but the upcoming Amazons Attack is probably tied into her presence here.
Things have been creatively happening with Superman to bring his comic version closer to the version seen on Television and in movies. The s-shield is now raised like on Superman Returns. The Birthright origin, which may or may not be in use, includes Smallville events. So why not coordinate along with each of these and kill Jonathan Kent?
Time will tell.

"GET YOUR STINKING PAWS OFF ME, YOU DAMN DIRTY APE!"
So what are they doing on the remaints of Lady Liberty?
Anyway, Red Robin is a badass, so that looks fun.

Yeah, I always thought that was one of Ross's best costume designs. I hate the name though. It is also too bad that he has never done anything in the pages of a comic.

I kinda makes me wonder if its Jason or Tim in that costume. It could be Dick but Jason could be redeemed in the end, or since Tim's is more batman-like and that costume is sorta batman-like, might be him.
I should point out to you guys to read my review to Justice Society of America #2 in the Justice Society of America thread. The reason? the Kingdom Come questions are happening in that book.

I think that Kingdom Come is too popular for them to change the identity of Red Robin. It is Dick Grayson.

And assuming that is the Atom's hand in the ground, I'm guessing that means he died.......so in that case Identity Crisis can be included as well in the titles represented by dead bodies.
Mary Marvel is supposed to be a breakout character this year right? So that explains her presence.
I'm wondering if the multi-verse is still present during 52, BUT it goes away because of WW3.
It would explain why OYL we see characters and stories that seem to connect to elseworld stories, but all the series seem to be in the same universe. (At least the series I've been following anyway)
Of course this is assuming that the Secret of 52 and WW3 have anything to do with this picture at all.
And why isn't Superboy on the ground, out of all the major deaths that happened his was by far the most important. There's GOT to be a reason for Conner not being there.

The Atom didn't die in Identity Crisis. He just shrunk really really small. I remember an interview with Didio about that.

Tim in Red Robin gear? That would ruin Red Robin for me, I've always been a Grayson fan, and having him reclaim the Robin mantle is just to damn cool.
