Is anyone going to the Comic Con in NY this year? Its being held from April 18-20 at the Jacob K. Javits Center. This will be my second time going and I've learned its better to get a weekend pass since it would be cheaper than going for one day. I've tried to get some friends to go but I guess I'm the only fan. Luckily another friend will be working there so I hope I get some kind inside info. |

Yep, I'll be there as well. Not sure of what my exact schedule is going to be, but I'll definitely be there.

Man, you're so lucky. I would only use the professional pass just to make sure I get to meet Jim Lee. |

Dude, I'm trying to be optimistic for a change lol
Hey, as long as I get my hands on a Riddler, and hopefully a Nightwing and/or Robin, I think I'll be happy.

Maybe they have. Wave 1 was easy to find at TRU down here. Target had them too, but not as much as long.

Well I have the Mattel 1:18 scale and here are a few things I see different.

* The Bat Radar/Scanner thing on the cowl just behind the hood is much smaller.
* The chevrons on the trunk are painted red.
* There is no silver/chrome window frames.
* The Bat on the door looks just a little too big.
* The antenna is angled back a lot more.
* It’s missing the two red lights on the sides of the arch near the rear canopies.

I wish there was a front view to see if the gas outlets and signage (which were added after the show) are on there as well.

The Mattel regular version shows the gas outlets and signage, (look at the turn signals and grilles, see the small rectangles) but they did not paint either and did not letter the signage. The Mattel version was scanned directly of the original #1 Batmobile. Does anybody know if DCD used a scan or just sculpted it directly?

It's funny - Mattel and DC got different things correct. The chevrons are both "right" for different times in the car's career: Mattel's paint job is the earlier version. The bat emblems on the doors are more accurate on the Mattel car, but the wheel bats on the DCD version are more accurate. The phone, steering wheel, and stripe thickness/placement are also more accurate on the DCD car.
There are a couple of things that don't look right only because this is a preproduction prototype. The canopy trim will likely be painted and the glass should look better on the final version. The cowl mounted radar was broken in these pics, but in their press release photos showed a radar that looks pretty close to the Mattel version. And the antenna on the rear was bent (down and to the driver's side) - the angle straight out of the box should more closely match the Mattel car.

Here is the press release photo: no gas outlets or signage.

I looks like they sculpted it. You can see there are certain areas, particularly around the front grilles, that look more "artistic" than "direct scan."
