I know this is a Batman site, but we have the section for future Superman movies so why not post on it...?

Metropolis

-Origins: Clark Kent, Alexander Luthor

*If the cast below has a "*" next to their name, it means they would be in "Metropolis" as well...

The Last Son

-Flashbacks to "Metropolis" movie with a 10 minute Krypton scene, a 4 minute scene with Kal-El landing in Smallville, and a 7 minute scene with Clark in his last month in Smaliville High with Alexander Luthor (no origin flashbacks for him in this one, we just see him as Clark's friend), Lana Lang, and Pete Ross
-Origins: Superman, Metallo
-The end would repeat the beginning of the film; Jor-El (Krypton) and Clark Kent (Alaska) are abandoning society...
-After credits (shown in some theaters): Bizarro is searching for Kal-El in Alaska.
-After credits (shown in some theaters): Doomsday's fist smashes against the side of the pod he is stuck in.

CAST

*Clark Kent/Superman - Josh Harnett, Adam Gregory, Sam Worthington, Alan Ritchson

Lois Lane (new comics/Smallville take) - Erica Durance, Zooey Deschanel, Eliza Dushku, Keri Russell, Rachel McAdams, Frances O'Connor

Jim Olsen (All-Star Superman take) - Sterling Knight

*Jor-El (Birthright take) - Mark Hildreth

*Lara-El (Birthright take) - Lynn Collins, Eva Green

*Jonathon Kent (Birthright; that's why I want John for the role, he looks EXACTLY like Jonathan Kent in Birthright) - John Schneider

*Martha Kent (Superman: TAS) - Sally Feild

*Bruno Mannheim - Ian McShane

*Alexander/Lex Luthor (a twisted Birthright take) - Matthew Goode

Winslow Schott/Toyman (Superman: Doomsday) - Stephen Tobolowsky

Perry White (Superman Returns) - Ed O'Neill

Professor Emil Hamilton (comics) - Jeremy Irons

Christopher Orr (Superman: For Tomorrow) - Jeff Bridges, Jackie Earle Haley

John Corben/Metallo (my take, personality of Metallo in The Batman) - Richard Burgi, Peter Krause

*Lana Lang - Taylor Momsen

*Pete Ross - Martin Spanjers

Metropolis Savior

-Opens with Clark Kent traveling around Alaska after leaving society. We suddenly clip to Jim Olsen as a pizza boy, his second small time job. Later we have Clark plant the second crystal to create a new Fortress; the first Fortress was created in "Metropolis." That's all my ideas so far for the script.
-Villains: Zod, Brainiac
-After credits (shown in some theaters): Bizarro walks into the second Fortress in Alaska, looking around.
-After credits (shown in some theaters): Doomsday's fist smashes against the side of the pod he is stuck in.

CAST

Clark Kent/Superman - Josh Harnett, Adam Gregory, Sam Worthington, Alan Ritchson

Lois Lane (new comics/Smallville take) - Erica Durance, Zooey Deschanel, Eliza Dushku, Keri Russell, Rachel McAdams, Frances O'Connor

Jim Olsen (All-Star Superman take) - Sterling Knight

Jor-El (Birthright take) - Mark Hildreth

Lex Luthor (a twisted Birthright take) - Matthew Goode

Perry White (Superman Returns) - Ed O'Neill

Professor Emil Hamilton (comics) - Jeremy Irons

Christopher Orr (Superman: For Tomorrow) - Jeff Bridges, Jackie Earle Haley

Zod - Gerard Butler

Brainiac - Hugo Weaving, James Van Der Beek

After reading the Nolan news on http://supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=7659&rstart=0, I had this image in my head of something like Batman Begins.

Clark Kent walks in Africa as in Birthright for the opening scene. He is a free lance writer for the Daily Planet at this point. One part would have him knocked out by a man carrying a Kryptonite rock at the beginning and later drugged. They think he's the "key" to the legend they have always believed in their culture. As Clark is out, he has a series of small dreams of visions of Krypton exploding, Jor-El talking to him in the Fortress, landing near Kent Farm, and walking with Lana Lang, Alexander Luthor, and Pete Ross in a hallway of Smallville High. Then Kobe (from Birthright) finds the cultists crowding around him on a cement bed....

Characters I wish could be in it are like Kobe, Hamilton, Mr. Orr, Viril Dox, Eradicator, Jor-El, Lara-El, Jonathan Kent, Martha Kent, Perry White, Jim Olsen, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and the Metropolis mob.

Too close to Batman Begins...I feel it would be better if it were closer to the original Superman movie from 1978. The only change I would make is that the movie begins with two teens talking about a 'Superman' character they created (Siegel and Shuster), that fades out and then we see Krypton...

This is a reboot though, not a remake. If you read Superman: Birthright, you'll see that it isn't a copy of Begins. Clark acually does go to Africa and meets an inspiration who later dies and avenges.

How about no origin stories? I think the character deserves to move on and let people see what they want to see: Superman fighting. I think a good character for him to face off is Metallo. Characters like Darkseid, Braniac, could be used in later films.

It implies that it's a reboot if there's an origin.

lol What on Earth do you mean? Do you mean if it's a reboot, then it's impossible to not be the origin? That would make 2008's Incredible Hulk some kind of time space paradox as that movie is a reboot without an origin story. (granted it shows clips of the origin in the intro, but so do Spider-man 2 and 3 and neither of those were origin movies)

The big question is if it's legal for them to still use the origin story. I seem to remember them losing those rights in a law suit.

There's been so many other Superman movies that I think it's time to start over, completly. I want a reboot to organize the new series of Superman films and seperate them from the Reeve films and Superman Returns.

What do you guys think about Jake Gyllenhaal or Billy Aaron Brown as Clark Kent? And I've had ideas for other Perry Whites... Robert Culp, Fred Willard, James Garner, or Mandy Patinkin.

Brown has the look for Clark, but crewcut has to go...I like either Garner or Patinkin as Perry White and another name for the mix Kevin Kline....maybe Lacey Chabert for Lois Lane

I think Garner's far too old for Perry. I'd go with Bryan Singer's first choice, Hugh Laurie.

Raz, Laurie just doesn't fit for White, if doing a reboot I say Kelsey Grammer, but if RBB's ideas are to have characters as we know them then I say Garner

That's a good choice if you want to make the feel of the Planet more serious.

It's not whether the tone is serious or not...If this is a reboot all of the characters need to be a bit younger than we know them (i.e. Gordon in the recent Batman films).

Very true. Obviously it will be serious; as opposed to a comedy I am guessing... Gordon in recent films was based upon Year One and the Loeb/Sale books. Either way, I'm a fan of your choice; he's a great actor too.

Now that we have Perry White cast, I think we should ask if the rest of the cast will be as we know them or younger (i.e. Smallville)
