It always amazes me as to how much of an impact JL/JLU had on so many fans. I was watching Super Friends with my wife the other day and she was confused that Green Lantern was a different person because of the amount of Justice League she's watched. It's great that DC put out something that had that big an impact.
I really enjoyed the show, but since I've had a lot more comic book influenced Green Lantern exposure, I usually prefer any of the other Earth 3 GL's to John Stewart. He was handled much better in the cartoon than in the comics though.
I personally don't have a preference. I would really just like to see a Green Lantern on the big screen.

Regarding GL... I was thinking about something. There are potential spoilers, so read at your own risk.
Acording to Jett from BOF's informants, one of the leaguers is going to go rogue in the movie. I seem to recall reading that Hal Jordan went rogue in the comic books. Now Stewart was initially made as back-up in case something happened to Hal Jordan... So if Hal goes rogue halfway through the pick they might end up having Stewart come in as a replacement.
Now Stewart is the only one who the casting rumours belong to... But that doesn't mean they can't introduce Jordan and replace him half-way through.

k here is my opinon... the movie should have batman, superman, wonderwoman, martian manhunter, green lantern, and flash if its wally west...ive heard ryan renolds wants to play the wally west flash. or a much lesser charicter like jason blood. and so the spotlight is not on just batman or super man (they wont be played by routh or bale due to pay) they dont make there actuall apperances till the middle of the movie and play more of a supporting role so other members (the flash, gl, and mm, or jason blood) can gain notice and have there own move, and if they make others after the first jla they will work as launch pads for other movies much like x-men did for the new wolverine move being released next year.

Ok, that's a cool idea, but here's the low-down on what's really happening. Spiolers are involved.
The line up will be Jon Stewart, Martian Manhunter, Barry Allen, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Superman, and Batman. Bale and Routh aren't appearing, not because of pay (and from what I hear they were offered very substancial sums), but because they don't like the project. All of the heroes are going to have a little spotlight, but Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are supposed to have a lot of screen time and are probably the primary heroes.
Batman will probably recieve a lot of attention so that WB has a more child friendly Batman than what's going on in the decidedly darker Nolan franchise.
Also all heroes will sort of appear on screen without any real formal origin (think X-men).

child friendly batman...i think batman begins is pretty kid friendly; not so sure about dark knight though.
as long as there's no nipples, and no weird val kilmer smile with the cowl on, then i'm good. i think if they do it in the style of TB, it will be okay. but even TB only works for cartoons.

When I say kid friendly, I don't nessicarilly mean cartoony, or Schumachery, I just mean that the Joker is going to be so frightening that TDK will not be viable in the children's market (I hear most adults will leave TDK with chills up their spines) and that JL is going to have a Batman that will be removed from such mature themes, and there fore able to tap into the childrens market.
And while Begins wasn't terrifing, it seemed to me to be to character focused to leave an impact in the children's market.

i dont know...kids watch anything these days. if you walk into a theater of a rated R movie, half of them are under 17.
i saw batman 89 when i was like 8 or something; i didnt understand it too well, but all i knew was that batman kicked joker's butt. that's all kids need, and theyre satisfied.
there's really know point in making an adult version of batman, and a kid's version of batman. they're all the same to them. just make an adult batman and everyone wins.

But 89 Batman wasn't anywhere near as adult oriented as TDK will be. Nolan's Joker has been put in the same class as the scariest characters in all of cinema. He's not going to be like Darth Vader or Green Goblin or Burton Joker... He's not a charater that's canned evil. He actually represents a lust for murder and carnage.
Now some kids will be ok with that, but 12 & under crowd is bound to be frightened by this movie.

kids are exposed to a lot. u'd be surprised with how much kids can handle these days. not all kids of coarse, but a lot of boys love watching that stuff.
and exactly what is the joker doing in this movie? goodness...scariest character in all of cinema? will he be raping women, killing children, torture people in chambers, cutting limbs and saving human flesh for dinner? i mean how scary can this joker be to frighten kids...clearly TDK is not a horror flick.

Dude, you severly underestimate the sympathy of the human race. Sure, watching some poor schmuck die in a horror movie isn't that scary. But think of when they killed the Waynes in Begins, remember how that mad you sad? That's because Nolan puts realism and sympathy in his movies.
When people die it's not just a random face, it's an actual person. And showing a psychotic clown killing people mercilessly is going to scare kids.
Honestly dude, people don't have too resort to shock value to be scary.
P.S. I never said he was the scariest, but he's deffinitley in that league. You need to understand that a scary person isn't about what they show of the character, but what he intends to do.

phill what your overlooking is the fact that joker will probobly use his joker venom by means of his flower or some form of his outer jacket and kids like clowns thats going to scare them...its the reason im afraid of clowns.
and if tdk is as dark as bb then hes gong to be horrifiing

So I just realized I sent us waaaaaaaaaay off topic!
Word on the street is that they greenlighted (I know it's a crappy term but's what they say) Mad Max 4... Which is also to be directed by the guy who's doin JLA... And I heard they haven't even greenlighted JLA officially... So they might but JLA on the shelf while he makes Mad Max. Any thoughts on this?

yeah, mad max is way past its popularity prime and i think its a bad move when u think about it...rocky 6 did poorly in boxoffices and so will rambo 3 and when ace ventura 3...(movie web.com) comes out it will be bad 2. id rather see something somewut original more than actors trying to re-create the charicters that made them famous in the first place...but thats just me.

According to IESB Casting is 100% locked, and we'll hear an "official" announcment by this weekend.
We'll have to wait and see, alot of their info has been false.
When the movie is greenlit, BYTB will start covering it more..

Ok, acorrding to JLOF some of the names of actors who have possibly been cast have been brought leaked onto the net. They have not been confirmed by Jett or anyone else, so at this point treat them as rumours. The Batman rumour has exclusivley come from BOF, the rest popped up on other sites.
Superman: Scott Porter
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2187603/
The Flash: Adam Brody
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0111013/
Green Lantern: Common
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0996669/
Batman: Armie Hammer
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2309517/
If you look them up on IMDB you can see most of them have almost no experience, which is disconcerting.
