I wonder if GL and Batman will work together or they just be at each other's throats.

Dermot Mulroney voices Green Lantern in Dec. 8 episode of "The Batman"
Dermot Mulroney makes his cartoon/super hero debut as Green Lantern in this
Saturday¹s premiere of ³Ring Toss,² the latest episode of ³The Batman.² The
episode airs on Dec. 8 at 11:30 a.m. ET/PT as part of the Kids¹ WB!
top-rated Saturday morning broadcast lineup on The CW.
Mulroney has starred in nearly 60 films and television series, including ³My
Best Friend¹s Wedding,² ³About Schmidt,² ³The Family Stone² and ³Must Love
Dogs.² He said he enjoyed the voiceover experience and hopes to work in the
medium more often. He also voiced a character in Bill Plympton¹s 2007
animated film ³Hair High.² He particularly enjoyed the specific direction
and recording with an ensemble cast on ³The Batman.²
³It¹s a really comfortable environment, especially recording with the entire
cast and working with the pros that was the most fun,² Mulroney said. ³It
all came pretty natural, but then again, you¹re really helped through it.
It¹s not like on a film set, where you don¹t really want the director to
give you a line reading. Here, I rely on it. It¹s a different medium.
Unique to Mulroney¹s previous acting experience was his ADR (additional
dialogue recording) session, where he recorded to picture more lines and
fixed some old dialogue, as well as adding all the physical sounds that go
with the fight sequences. Renowned voice director Andrea Romano guided
Mulroney through both of his ³Ring Toss² sessions.
³Doing all the grunts and groans has its charm, too,² Mulroney said. ³There
are experts here in the studio who know exactly which type of groan goes
with which picture, so I pretty much just do what they say. It¹s too
difficult without the expert guidance. (Andrea) knows exactly what the sound
is that you make when there¹s an impact and what¹s the sound of you throwing
a punch, when you¹re getting blown up or when a ceiling falls on you. That
may sound funny to say, but it sounds good in the recording.²
The interplay between Green Lantern and Batman was another enticement in
luring Mulroney to the project.
³I really liked the dynamic between Green Lantern and Batman that was my
favorite part of the storyline,² he said. ³With the Justice League, we¹re
talking about a whole league of super heroes so how is everybody supposed
to get along? They¹re fighting for the same cause, but there are some
personality conflicts. That was a fun part to play.²
Mulroney¹s distinctive voice is a natural for animation. To him, though, the
experience was somewhat surreal particularly in comparison with his usual
on-camera roles.
³I¹ve always had this voice,² Mulroney said. ³Most of my brothers had their
voice change, but I was absolutely Froggy you know, Froggy from ³Our
Gang.² I¹ve sounded like this since I was 5. I¹m used to it, so it¹s fine.
³In live-action, it¹s funny to see yourself on the screen; but to only hear
your voice coming out of a cartoon character is still like it¹s somebody
else¹s voice sometimes. It¹s a little bit of a surreal experience. I was
fine working on (Batman) originally, just recording the script into a
microphone. But to come in to fill in the gaps and to watch the TV screen
and hear my voice recording coming out of the character, and not coming out
of my mouth, is a bit of a peculiar experience.²
As reported in TV Guide last week, Dermot¹s brother and sister-in-law are
Kieran and Michelle Mulroney, the screenwriters on ³Justice League of
America,² the upcoming Warner Bros. live-action film. Mulroney sees symmetry
to their current projects.
³Kieran and I grew up reading DC comics,² Mulroney said. ³We had a whole
system where, once a week, we¹d take a trip to the little store that sold
the comics. I have a couple of brothers, and we¹d all fight over who got
which issue. So there¹s a long history of comics in the family.²
Mulroney is going to keep the super hero theme running through the family
he plans on watching the episode with his 8-year-old son.
³He¹s going to love it,² he said.
Here's a few more pics..

Yes. But in the comics, Batman hated Hal for what Hal did(under the influence of the Parallax entity), and Batman have never forgave him for that.

I hope, once they get into individual WHOLE team JL episodes, that they will feature The GL and Sinestro Corps'. That'd Be pretty cool to see them design those characters. (I mean the orginal 4 or 6 (or whatever) GL corps)

ed schulz, this is when batman FIRST meets with green lantern. didnt he become parallax much later? and i really dont think they would do a story on that anyway. it's too much for kids...a green lantern going evil is not fun to watch when you're a kid.

THE BATMAN – 507 – RING TOSS
PLOT:
In a moment of desperation, Green Lantern commands his ring to fly to Batman, only to have it intercepted by the Penguin.
REVIEW:
The last team-up episode, pitting Batman with The Flash, was funny and filled with action. And it had to be Barry; no way was it Wally under that mask. So for the next team-up, Batman fights alongside Green Lantern. Recently, I read the first arc of the relaunched Brave and the Bold series that pitted in the main team-up, amidst the various others, Batman and Green Lantern. But for many others, it wasn’t just the feel of the well known team-up between Batman and Green Lantern, it was the fact that we were going to finally get the animated version of Hal Jordan. Hal was animated in the Green Lantern/JLA Filmation shorts, and again in the long-running Superfriends franchise, but his origin was retooled with Kyle Rayner in his place for STAS with John Stewart on JL/JLU. The only time Hal was animated in the DCAU was in a cameo in the first season’s finale in JLU. Now, we have an animated Hal Jordan as the main Green Lantern on The Batman. And I would like to add that this comes two months before The New Frontier DTV with another animated Hal Jordan. So here is Ring Toss.
Dick Grayson is about to play ball until Alfred picks him up. Dick is depressed that he has to go to a charity until he hears Green Lantern is at the Batcave with Batman. After GL leaves, and reaches his test pilot job, he is attacked by Sinestro. He wants Hal’s ring, which leads to a fight between the two. Hal is hurt badly and calls his ring to find Batman. As Bruce has his charity party, Penguin is about to crash until the GL ring hits his head and he puts it on. Finding out it can do tricks and can use it for his crimes; Penguin robs Bruce’s charity and then a bank. Batman and Robin follow him, but when they fight him, they can’t fight off the energies of the power ring. Hal hears about the fight and goes there with his lantern recharger. Hal manages to “bounce” Penguin away, but Sinestro arrives to fight all of them.
Green Lantern has a lot of fans, and I’am one of them (somewhat missed out on the recent GL event), and I got the feeling from this episode of excitement that I haven’t gotten since the Batman/Superman team-up this season. Green Arrow and Flash were fine, but there was something with Martian Manhunter, Superman, and now with Green Lantern that had more. I guess it had to be the power ring; right next to Superman’s powers, people want something to put on and be given amazing abilities. As for Hal’s VA, Dermot Mulroney, I found him okay; he was fine at times because he presented a take charge guy, which made sense if you knew the backstory to Hal Jordan working as a test pilot for the air force. But there were occasions where the sound of his voice didn’t quite match up. I think I would have to rewatch the episode, or hear him again, to make a definite reaction. But as of now; he was okay.
Overall, “Ring Toss” was a exciting episode, not since the Batman/Superman team-up did I get that feeling again. Sinestro was handled well, as was Green Lantern. But Dermot Mulroney’s voice was only okay. Again, I need to watch this again or another episode with him as GL to get a definite answer. But despite that, everything was exciting and good. Too bad this is the last “Brave and the Bold” episode until The Batman returns with more, next with Hawkman, before the season finale with the JLA!
RATING: Yay
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.

Good episode, but not stellar.
Of course The Penguin gets another episode...as always. The story was ok, but the best part was Sinestro...he was one bad dude, Just like "In Brightest Day".

this Episode was awesome, I really did enjoy the fight between batman, and sinestro, and i also liked the scene, where batman punched sinestro, and i thought the scene, where green lantern, is telling robin, that batman is a tough guy is great, i can't wait to see next week's episode, it is going to be great. |

This was a pretty enjoyable episode. I really do like the team ups since it gives us a chance to see what this creative team can come up with. Dermot Mulroney seemed good for Hal Jordan. I didn't have any complaints about him.
The fights were pretty good, there were moments when I was thinking "Oh he has to be dead." Whether it was the cops being thrown into the truck, or the car and money dropping on Penguin, even the fight with Sinestro and Lantern had some "whoa" moments.
There were definitely some funny moments especially when Dick when to the cave to meet Lantern. And his bit with explaining why Joker is insane was quite amusing.
I'd have to say this is one of my favorite episodes this season. Although a flying Batman seemed a bit odd.
The next Joker episode looks kind of stupid but at least Harley is back. |

I just seen the entire episode on youtube.com and it was great. Hal Jordan's mask was black instead of green, kinda tribute to the 1967 Filmation segments. I am really looking forward to The Batman teaming up with Hawkman and Aquaman.
