Confirming new seasons for both The Batman and Legion of Super Heroes on Thursday, Warner Bros. Animation also dropped major hints at what to expect in both shows.
Warner Bros. announced Thursday that The Batman, Legion of Super Heroes, Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue! and Tom and Jerry Tales will all be back on Kids' WB! for the 2007-2008 season.
Here's how Warner Bros. describes the new season of The Batman:
"The Batman, which is nominated for a 2006-2007 Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Special Class Animation Program category, will focus its new season on the introduction of Batman's Justice League peers. Expect amped-up action and heightened stakes as Superman, Aquaman, The Flash and several others work in concert with Batman -- and even more of his amazing technological wonders -- to defend Gotham from a seemingly never-ending roster of super villains."
Alan Burnett and Michael Goguen serve as supervising producers and Kim Smith is producer for The Batman.
Here's how Warner Bros. describes the new season of Legion:
"The second season of Legion of Super Heroes finds the group fulfilling their collective destiny, each member elevating his skills to new levels ... just in time to face even greater challenges. A daunting new villain -- a destroyer of galaxies from the rich annals of DC Comics -- puts the Legion into action alongside new team members. Superman returns from the 21st century with greater development of both his physical prowess and far better utilization of his powers to help the Legion toward victory in the 31st century and beyond. Moreover, the Legion finds a surprising, new ally from across the space-time continuum to assist in its efforts to rid the universe of this powerful foe."
James Tucker returns for this second season as producer of Legion, and is joined by associate producer Amy McKenna and story editor Michael Jelenic.
Warner Bros. did not release art yet for the new seasons, with the exception of a Season 2 logo for Legion:

Its totally not fair that Superman can appear in almost anything with no embargo whatsoever. But I admit I'm excited to see all the other heroes. |

finally batman has some guest stars. it's always superman who has them. in STAS, there was aquaman, flash, green lantern, steel, and i'm sure theres more. batman had no guest stars, lol. but i guess thats a good thing. it shows that batman doesnt need any more characters for viewers to watch it.
i remember watching STAS everyday in hopes to see one of the guest stars.

Batman was great on his own. |

oh yeah...i forgot about supergirl, she was in "girl's nite out." but i think of zatanna, creeper, and etrigan as "batman characters". i know theyre not, but i treat them that way in the animated universe. lol.

Yeah, you normally wouldn't think of them as the main heroes but I guess its because Batman was such a strong character, there was no need for someone to support him except Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl. |

I doubt the JLA is already there in the show, I mean the team to the world. I believe since Batman will be teaming up with each of the superheroes that its more Brave and the Bold. Agree?
Personally, I believe that a Batman show into a JLA show isn't good. Superman influenced and inspired every superhero. So it should be Superman first, then JLA later.
I should also point out that Burnett said "Maybe,(smiled) maybe" when asked if The Flsh would appear in the season 4 finale.

i wonder if they'll call superman "the superman," lol.
and as for the JLA goes...i think it's good that batman inspires every hero. he has no powers, but he's better than them. hahahahaha. sorta like how green arrow inspires clark in smallville. i think it could work.

So with LoSH getting a second season, J.M. DeMatteis was interviewed by The Continuum about what else on season 2. Just tidbits:
"I wrote a Timber Wolf story and I think there will be more to do when I get back to New York," DeMatteis told The Continuum during an appearance on Sunday with Abadazad collaborator Mike Ploog at the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention.
"I was surprised. It was actually a pretty intense episode."
DeMatteis said the second season will see "a shift in focus."
In other Legion news:
* The Continuum has learned that the "destroyer of galaxies from the rich annals of DC Comics" mentioned in the Warner Bros release last week will be Imperiex, who will likely appear starting with the second-season debut.
* The Superman seen in Season 2 will not be the same Superman as seen in Season 1.
* The Fatal Five will be returning next season.
There will be more enws later this week on The Continuum. So no Darkseid. I don't have a problem with it. Since he has been seen in STAS/JL/JLU, a newer villian that has never gotten the animation treatment works out.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

First News of Season Five:
Comics Continuum talked with Veteran voice actor Lex Lang told The Continuum he recently recorded several roles for the first two episodes of Kids' WB!'s new season of The Batman.
"I did the voices of Metallo, Clayface and the mayor," Lang told The Continuum. "And in the second episode I did the voice of a slacker dude who helps Superman get some Kryptonite off of him."
Lang said he lowered the register of his voice for Metallo and expects a computer enhancement to fit the character.
According to Lang, George Newbern is reprising his Justice League role of Superman and Clancy Brown is returning as Lex Luthor. Brown also voiced Mr. Freeze on The Batman.
So it looks like Superman has existed in his carear before the show started. And also has past adventures fighting Luthor and Metallo.
And it looks like, and I hope it is, the first epsiodes that feature Superman will probably be called "Worlds' Finest".

Hmm, I don't know, I guess Im excited the most at a new season. I like seeing other guest stars, I just dont wanna see the other heroes take all the spotlight. As long as they keep introducing more villains though, you won't here me complain

Also, Matsuda announced on his blog that he was leaving The Batman Crew:
Thanks to everyone for their support of season 4 of "The Batman", it was so much fun I had to remind myself I was working. It's been great hearing how all of you guys have really been enjoying the new stories and direction and believe me, I couldn't have had more fun helping to bring it to you. I just wanted to let you guys know that season 4 will be my last on "The Batman". I'll miss being in on story meetings and the creative process, but as you all have heard, the great Alan Burnett(who is one of the coolest guys ever)will be the new story editor! Michael Jelenic has also moved on, and you'll be hearing about his new project soon! I'm proud to have worked on season 4 and to have been able to talk to a bunch of you guys about our love for Batman. I actually helped storyboard the last JLA sequence for "The Joining, Part 2", as my last contribution to the Batman, I hope you guys like it. Thanks for your continued support of the show, now I'll be on the other side of the tv when season 5 airs, so make room on the couch!

sounds like a great Season, I can't wait to see it, I am really glad to see George Newbern returning to voice Superman, it is going to be great to hear Him Playing Superman again, I thought he did a good Job playing Superman on Justice League, and it also great to find out that Superman was already in Metropolis when Batman Started his Career. |
