SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES:
United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his ?partner in crime? Batman. Super heroes and super villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite ? and recruit super help ? to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover
Luthor?s devious plot to take command of far more than North America.
After Green Lantern: First Flight, we know Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is in the works so thats why I created this thread. Here, post updates, rumors, pictures, etc. If you haven't read the book, I strongly recomend it. It's as if Bruce Timm wrote it himself! And the art will look so good animated!!!
Ed McGuinness (artist of this book) is a subscriber of my art on DeviantArt.com just to brag again if I didn't already say that :P

It sounds rather interesting, very interesting indeed. Sounds like a good read too. I like the story line too. Can anyone tell me who's in it other than saying "super heroes and super villains" ? And who in their right mind appointed Lex Luthor as the President of the united states? That guy is a real jerk.

Hey, we appointed Bush so Lex can't be so far from the truth!
Anyway, I've never actually read the story, a fact I'm kind of ashamed of because I'm a HUGE Jeph Loeb fan. But I am looking forward to us finally getting an adaptation of a Loeb book. Here's hoping they actually bother to animate it well!

Actually we voted Lex in. During the time that Bush and Gore was campaigning there was also a third vote on the DC site for Lex. He won by a landslide.

So IMDB recently had a link to a teaser for Public Enemies but was soon taken off. I was lucky enough to be able to catch it and I have to admit, I got excited for this DTV. At first, I was kind of against it because it went back to Batman and Superman. They could've focused on other heroes such as Aquaman, Green Arrow, etc. Anyway, the animation is partially influenced by Ed McGuinness' art. Its not 100% Ed but its pretty close. IMDB says Kevin Conroy returns as Batman but that's not reliable so I'm holding my breath on it.
This is a list of things I hope they have for Public Enemies:
1. Kevin Conroy returns using his voice from TAS days not Gotham Knight
2. Tim Daly return as Superman
3. Clancy Brown return as Lex Luthor
4. Batgirl (Cassandra) finally make her appearance in animation
5. More than an hour and a half. (Hah! I wish)
6. It won't stray too far from the original source
The only thing stopping you from success is doubt. |

I happened upon the teaser myself and it was GREAT. I am a HUGE fan of that story. I LOVE jeph loeb and ed mcguinness. Anyway as long as Kevin Conroy and hopefully Clancy Brown are there I'll be happy

Darn, guessed I missed the teaser. Sounds pretty cool though. There's loads of characters in the storyline, I wonder if they'll include them all or not. |

World's Finest Online confirmed Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown are the lead voices for the Superman/Batman Public Enemies DTV. It is also expected to be released in September 2009. An official announcement is scheduled to be released next week.
They listened to my top three requests! I'm very excited about this news.

I saw the trailer a few days ago and was very pleased with how things are looking. Great art direction, and the story being what it is we can expect tons of characters and some crazy action. Good to hear Tim Daly's back as Superman; I always preferred him over George Newbern just slightly, though I liked both of them. |

i wonder if the sidekicks will make an appearance. im not really familiar with public enemies, although i've read some issues of superman/batman here and there and there was one with like...all of the side kicks. robin, superboy, nightwing, batgirl, supergirl, you name it.

^That was about half-way through Public Enemies. It was a good issue. Batgirl's already been confirmed, so hopefully they'll keep that scene in there.

Bane is in the trailer even though he wasn't in the book. It's good to finally see his suit done right, just like the original.

Yeah Cassandra Cain would be nice to see. Wow Bane. So number six isn't as likely, Bane is still on Venom like most of his animated counterparts. Kinda weird, Comic: kicks the habit and is still immensely strong. Animation: pretty much on a constant roid rage.
