I've not seen Vamipire Hunter D Bloodlust, but I think I know which segment your talking about. The Deadshot segment right?

That very same segment is very similair to an anime I adore called Gungrave, I believe the same studio animated it actually. And just like you, that's the style I always thought Batman should be like in anime.

I wish there were toys being made after this DTV. I'd love to see an anime style Batman figure

we may get something, since Batman is very popular.

yeah! the deadshot one!

i really like these anime styles because they use a lot of black for shadows. it creates this really dark feel to it. i love it!

this isn't batman, but it's just an example of the use of black as the shadows as opposed to a darker color. it's actually really similar to the look of american comics. not facial features, but the black shadowing and stuff. you know what i mean.

According to World's Finest, Bale will not be lending his voice to Batman: Gotham Knight, the upcoming DTV anime, despite rampant speculation that he would.

"Sources within Warner Bros. Animation confirm the actor will not be lending his voice to the highly anticipated project. Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Video are expected to officially announce Batman: Gotham Knight shortly, including release date information and further details on the animated direct-to-video's plot."

they should get all the batman voice veterans they can! adam west, kevin conroy, rino romano, heck maybe even michael keaton, val kilmer, and george clooney(lol).

and hopefully they'll have a japanese language track. i'd love to hear a japanese batman voice. that would be crazy and cool.

The guy who played Trunks in the Japanese Dragonball Z would be awesome as Batman. Bring back Kevin Conroy! Bring back Kevin Conroy!

I don't think they should market this as a connection to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. It should stand on its own.

I would have loved Christian Bale, he did one of the best anime voice overs I've ever seen in Howl's Moving Castle. But I guess we can make do with someone else.

Judging from the casts of WB's last few DTV efforts, I doubt they're going to hire the average anime voice actors like Steven Blum or Crispin Freeman. Expect a celebrity of some sort.

And Phil, you say lol to Clooney but not to West?! lol Clooney can act when motivated to, but when's the last time West was good in a serious movie?

i don't know...was west in any movie after batman? i think after batman, he decided to parody himself in every cartoon possible. fairly odd parents, family guy, johnny bravo, and even BTAS. the man is awesome; he has no shame whatsoever. go adam west.

BTAS is exactly what I'm talking about, it's a dramatic role, but it wasn't exactly amazing.

Let's just say that West can only really do one thing, and isn't that not something you want in an actor?

Of the typical anime actors I'd pick Crispin Freeman (Amon in Witch Hunter Robin, Togusa in Ghost in the Shell) he has a nice deep, gravely voice.

As for celebrities I'd go with... CHRISTIAN BALE!!!! lol I guess we'll just have to wait and see who they pick.
