Christmas with the Joker, Almost Got 'im, and Harley and Ivy are probably my three favorite TAS episodes. Feat of Clay (both parts, but mainly part 2) gets my vote for worst episode for the simple fact that it scared me a lot when I first saw it as a kid. The Underdwellers has never been my cup of tea, either. |

That's coincidental - Almost Got 'Im is my favourite - and I also thought Underdwellers was pretty lacklustre..... |

Now thats interesting!
When I first saw that I thought it wasnt good - I then found out that the general take on that episode was that it was one of the poorest in the whole Timm/Dini catalogue. It was so poor that they decided to do a commentary on it!; and thats when I changed my mind about it.
So many little subtleties (is that how you spell subtleties?) that I didnt pick up on. Seeing the show again, with the insight of what the makers were trying to achieve was fascinating. I did love the ninja farmer with pitchfork, and some of the genetically modified beasts were scary! I also loved that whole dimensionally transcendental* thing with the lift from the city to the country.
I can't say it's my absolute favourite, but I do like it a lot, after not liking it at all!

There's a lot of really good episodes, though I have to admit that there are a few that I REALLY don't care for.
But yeah, I liked "I Am the Night", it was a good episode...possibly the best part about it was the animation, but the story was good too. "Robin's Reckoning" was very awesome, specially part 1. I loved seeing Batman with that cotsume. I have a bunch of other favorites as well. |

Actually one of my favorites was "I've got Batman in My Basement", but that might be byast, because Penguin is my favorite villian. My other favorites are, "Make Em' Laugh", "Trial", and "Blind as a Bat". I don't really like "The Underdwellers" either, if I had to choose a least favorite, but I like all the episodes. Season 4 is my least favorite, but still it's ok. The First three seasons to me are possibly the best cartoons I've ever watched. Though I love all the old Batman and Batman related cartoons, like: "The New Adventures of Batman", and "The SuperFriends".

I thought Batman: TAS was mainly based off Tim Burton's BATMAN movies considering Batman Returns came out when they made Penguin and I also saw a commentary on Bruce Timm on Batman: TAS and he said they used Tim Burton's universe alot for the series and when I noticed that in the show it got boring. I hate how in the series, Joker's real name is Jack Napier (In an offical Batman TAS Series Guide)

That shows up in SOME episodes. In others, there is subtle doubt if that is the truth and his name is "skirted around" and NOT given (like in Mask of the Phatasm).
It seems like they first used the movie one, then went more to the comic book mystery. In doing such, they made the character one that made up various backgrounds to suit, so the Napier name could be one of those stories.
Of course, I am not a writer nor got that from them. That is just my observation as a fan of the show.
The BTAS Joker is closer to the original and Danny versions, where he is a brilliant proponent of humorous chaos. He is also rather dangerous and unbalanced, where in whether his victims actually die or are just debilitated (intentional for the TV censors). By the plots, it is pretty evident that the Joker intended to kill and did so, but such is never actually shown and the possibility of the other is left open.
In ALL cases, the possible "victims" of Batman are all SHOWN living afterwards.
Sum Nox!
