INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS:

- Vandal Savage, the great-grandfather of Kong the Untamed and the son of Anthro all play a part in issue one. We also learn the origins of the Miagani Tribe –the 'Bat People' who were revealed to have inhabited the Gotham City area in 'Legends of the Dark Knight', back in the '90s. (don't worry though, no cave-speak is involved)

- Issue two will have Bruce visiting the "shadowy, misty and spooky" world of Puritanical times in which Batman will have to take on a "Lovecraftian horror from beyond" which will bring him face to face with a glimpse of the far future.

- Blackbeard the Pirate (aka Edward Teach) guest-stars in issue three to add a little bit of "real" history alongside DC's very own Black Pirate character. Morrison describes the story as "a desperate treasure hunt into the darkest depths of what will one day be the Batcave."

- At the time the article was written, Morrison himself was just starting writing issue four which he says is somewhat inspired by the 'silent' Batman story in Detective Comics #439. In this tale, a 'Man With No Name'-style Cowboy Bruce "arrives in Gotham City to take care of some unfinished business and all hell breaks loose." (naturally) Expect a cameo from Jonah Hex!

- While designing the cover for issue five, Andy Kubert was under the mistaken impression that the tale would take place in 'Victorian Era.' Designs were drawn but never used (see at right). Grant says this issue "showcases the abilities of the World's Greatest Detective…and there will be one or two surprising guest stars."

- The interview was interestingly mum on the sixth issue (the one in which the cover sports a fully modern aged Batman). So stay tuned!
