Elizabeth Styles was elected class president in her senior year of high school. It was the start of her career in politics. She represented the Cork District when suddenly, all men of Gotham disappeared. The most senior elected official still present, Styles was appointed acting mayor.
During her reign over the city, her hands were tied in protocol; she was appointed, never elected mayor. She made due with the interim staff. Like her predecessor, Mayor Hill, Styles condoned costumed vigilantism, which caused her to get off on a wrong foot with acting police commissioner Caroline Greenway.
