Not much is known of the Puzzler's background, only that he has obviously had extensive education in Shakespeare, one that rivals or perhaps surpasses Batman's own. He is constantly quoting a line from plays, often from Macbeth, his personal favourite. He also has an interest in flying, as most of his crimes have an aviatic theme.
ABOUT MAURICE EVANS
Fred De Gorter's script actually began as a Riddler vehicle entitled "A Penny For Your Riddles/They're Worth A Lot More!" probably intended as an early second season episode. Frank Gorshin was unavailable, so De Gorter rewrote the script for a new villain, Mr. Conumdrum, titled "The Conumdrums are Coming/The Duo is Slumming," changed to the Puzzler (actually a Superman villain in the comic books). As a result, the Puzzler is merely a lightweight Riddler copycat.
The Puzzler is a Superman Villain, however we do not have any other bios for him.
