PLOT:
In London, Professor Stanton T. Carlyle makes a public appearance to promote his new book which claims the crime bible is a hoax. Renée Montoya tries to convince the professor he is wrong, but he refuses to listen to her. Renée decides to investigate the professor. A box in his office leads her to a knife shop.
That night, The Question interrupts the professor just as he is about to kill his wife. The Question believes that by debunking the crime bible, he is actually getting more people to read it. And then by killing his wife, the scandal will heighten the book’s notoriety. Just then, Flay, a servant of Cain, interrupts, attacking the Question. As they fight, the professor’s wife kills her husband. Flay then tells her to kill her son.
The Question breaks free of Flay and saves the kid. Later, Renée blames herself; she should’ve known and should’ve stopped the wife. Someone hears her and calls her a liar.
