PLOT:
When Bart Allen emerged from the Speed force it had once again triggered his accelerating aging. His aged condition, if allowed to go unchecked would have continued to progressively worsen like a cancer and in all likelihood Bart would have been dead in a month even if the Rogue's hadn't killed him. Luckily Braniac-5 had the forethought to send the Legionnaires back to capture Bart Allen's youth within a lightning rod during the Lightning Saga. With Bart Allen reconstituted Superboy-Prime finds himself in a world of hurt! The arrival of Soadm Yat wearing a Green Lantern ring on every finger does nothing to increase his chances of survival.

But at just that moment, Time Trapper pulls Superman, Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad to the end of time where he plans to end them himself. Time Trapper explains that he had chosen Superboy-Prime as his tool for eradicating Superman from the timeline and wants the heart of the Legion present when he does so!

Back in the 31st century the battle continues. It would appear as though the Kryptonite from the Earth which spawned the angsty teenage Legionnaires actually has an affect on Superboy-Prime. Turning green and writhing in pain he immediately rockets skyward in an attempt to rid himself of the poisoning. Once there he gets word that something is afoot in the Arctic and takes off towards Superman's Fortress of Solitude where the Braniacs are working on the final piece of their puzzle.

Polar Boy , Wildfire and Dawnstar time travel to that exact point in time at the Fortress and hand over the stand of Lex Luthor's hair they retrieved from the 20th Century. With that strand of DNA in his possession, Braniac-5 finally reveals what it was that he sent Starman back to the 21st Century to accomplish. One thousand years ago Starman dug up the corpse of Conner Kent and placed it within the Kryptonian Chrysalis that once returned life to Superman after he was beaten by Doomsday. It's taken all this time to properly recharge his body but now with the final key in hand the Legionnaires are able to bring Superboy back to life!

Superboy jumps into action delivering some much deserved retribution to the spoiled boy from Earth-Prime who had seemingly ended his life more than 1,000 years ago. Upon learning that the casualties of Prime's tantrum included his friend Rond Vidar and the Sun Boy of an alternate Earth, Sun Boy is motivated to join the fight!

But at the end of time, Time Trapper goads saying that not even the return of Conner Kent will be enough to stop Superboy Prime? He knows this for a fact because he himself is actually the future version of Superboy-Prime! Can Superman and the Legion actualy triumph? Is the future already decided!?
