PLOT:
Strands of black attach themselves like gooey cobwebs to the different floating chunks of Xanshi, pulling themselves together piece by piece. Until finally the entire planet is
re-formed, bonded together by black death. Shining in the eternal darkness of space with a black lantern light that haunts the very soul of John Stewart who stands to watch it's resurrection.
Elsewhere, the Zamarons are in the process of rehabilitating captured members of the Sinestro Corps through the power of love. Waves of pink energy cascade throughout the
crystals containing the Yellow Lanterns, emanating from the Central Battery. The source of this great power within the Eternal Heart of the Star Sapphires are a very familiar
pair of crystallized skeletons. Captured in an eternal embrace, they are the source of the Immortal Love that drives the Corps.
One in particular is very adept and wielding the parasitic alien power known as the Predator. Her name is Carol Ferris, one-time lover of Hal Jordan, the greatest Green Lantern
to ever live. It is her mission to help heal the rift between the two corps. And it's this mission that pits her against the other major player in Hal's life, his mortal enemy,
Sinestro. The Sinestro Corps is making an attack on Zamaron in order to free their members. And their mission appears to be succeeding.
The Star Sapphire searches within the depths of Sinestro's cold little heart and finds traces of a love from long ago. A lost love. One by the name of Arin Sur, the sister of
Sinestro's former partner Abin Sur. But this soul-searching venture is cut short when Sinestro and Carol suddenly find themselves in the company of several deceased members of
the Sinestro Corps. Lost in the Sinestro Corps War, these Black Lantern soldiers now stand at attention before their formal "fearful leader." What they could want is anyones
guess.
On the planet Ysmault the Green Lanterns' mission to retrieve the body of their former member Laira is suddenly complicated by the arrival of a swarm of Black Lantern rings. And
before they know it, the dead body they've been sent to retrieve may not be dead any longer.
All across the galaxy, black rings fly against a backdrop of a war of light. Scores of dead warriors swarm Qward, where Mongul's leadership has thrown the Sinestro Corps into a
near Civil War state. Yet more rings float on the outskirts of the planet Odym, home of the Blue Lantern Corps, waiting for death to finally creep in so that they can lay claim
to the fallen. And Larfleeze, soul member of the Orange Lanterns is in for a surprise when the little black ring he covets so greatly gives un-life to the countless corpses
littering his sanctuary. Corpses whose spirits he has been using as spectral warriors for his Orange Lantern Corps. Corpses who had been trapped on Okaara a long time ago.
Corpses who have been waiting quite a long time for revenge against Larfleeze and his all-consuming corps of avarice.
Tales of the Black light's plundering burn their way into the Book of Black sitting within the Citadel of the Guardians on Oa. There is yet one final light to be located, that
of the Indigo Lanterns. And in due time, Scar and her dark master plan to extinguish it once and for all.
