PLOT:
When Sodam Yat flew into the core of the Daxam sun changing it's hue to yellow, it turned the tides of the battle taking place below and helped the Daxamites thwart the invading Sinestro Corps. But now, in the wake of the battle, the yellow light also serves to highlight the xenophobic undercurrents of it's people. With the Sinestro Corps gone, the Daxamites have no use for an outsider such as Lantern Arisia and they make it very clear that she is no longer welcome. And so, with her colleague still embedded within the Daxamite sun, Arisia begins the lonely trek back to Oa.

Mongul and the Sinestro Corps meanwhile have found a new place to call home - the planet of their founder, Korugar. Only a short time ago, the people of Korugar thought they would witness the execution of the man whom had caused so much fear and unhappiness on the planet. Now they lay captive to his army. It's defacto general Mongul, parades through the streets, stringing up protestors and other disobedient residents to serve as warning. Looking over his accomplishments, Mongul decides to rename the corps in his honor. The people of Korugar will learn, if they want to continue their miserable lives, they'll bow down and fear the Mongul Corps!

The people of Korugar call out for their protectors but both Lanterns Natu and Iolande are on their way back to Oa. As they approach the Green Lantern headquarters in Sector 0, they run across Honor Lanterns Gardner and Rayner returning for duty. Though their temporary relief from duty allowed them to be present on Earth for the Tribute Day celebration, the recent radio silence has them un-nerved as well. Soranik's arrival comes as quite a coincidence as just moments prior, she herself was the topic of conversation between Kyle and Guy. It seems Rayner cannot shake the memories of his recent encounter with the Star Sapphire. The glowing lantern of love had shown him that his heart's true desire was none other than Jade, the woman he lost during Infinite Crisis. But he still cannot shake his feelings for Soranik. "I don't want this to sound cold, buddy. But Jade's dead and Soranik's alive... The heart that's beating is the one you jump off the cliff for." says Gardner. He has no idea how apropos that advice would come to be.

Together the caravan arrives at Oa just in time to watch as the horde of Black Lantern rings comes buzzing through space like so many flesh hungry flies. With the Guardians not responding to any calls, the Lanterns do their best to rally a defense. But the rings have no interest in any of them. Black metal tears through green willpower barriers with ease, cascading down upon the unprotected Lantern Crypt in a swarm. The crypt keeper, Morro is barely able to escape before the hollowed house of the fallen explodes! Crawling out from the debris come scores of undead Lanterns, the glowing black rock on their finger giving them new life. Jack T. Chance! Katma Tui! Tomar-Re! All of the deceased Lanterns have been compromised! And soon, Kyle Rayner finds himself face to face with the supposed love of his life as the undead Jade comes calling for his heart!
