PLOT:
The Sciencell prisoner riots have been contained but the damage has been done. The gigantic green lantern battery construct built to protect Oa has been shattered - destroyed from within
by the Children of the White Lobe. "The battery shell was a symbol, and to the eyes of the universe our symbol has just been decimated." Kyle Rayner says as he looks up at the
wreckage floating about.
But while Rayner and his partner Guy Gardner begin damage control with the other Lanterns he notices that the Alpha Lanterns are more concerned with moving the
corralled prisoners than
attending to the damage. A short time later, when word gets out that Alpha Lantern power-ring energy discharges have been cited in the prisoner areas, Kyle and Guy go to investigate. They're shocked
to find that the Alpha Lanterns have rounded up all of the rioters and are summarily executing the unarmed prisoners one by one on orders from the Guardians! But what about due process?! And what will happen to the
prisoners whom Rayner was able to convince to lay down their arms and turn against the Sinestro Corps in exchange for leniency?
In an attempt to reach whatever small portion of their colleagues left within the shells of the Alpha Lanterns and
use logic to show them the error of their ways Kyle raises the issue of
transparency in the proceedings. If the Guardians are so proud of their righteous decree, why not perform these executions in the center of Oa for all to see? To his complete and utter horror,
as called upon, the Guardians raise the prisoners up into the air above Oa and begin proceeding with their war crimes for all to see. Those whom Kyle had promised leniency will be granted a stay of execution but
all others are to be put down if the Corps is to maintain it's Will and emerge victoriously from this war. For their insubordination, Guy and Kyle are temporarily stripped of their Honor Lantern status
and immediately shipped back to Brooklyn, powerless.
Elsewhere on Oa, Soranik Natu is trying to remove her own ugly reminder of the Sinestro Corps as she attempts in vain to remove the tattoo given to her by her supposed father, the villainous
Sinestro. Placed right below her eye, the tattoo, which works as a tracking device, appears irremovable.
The Sinestro Corps themselves however are planning on removing themselves from Daxam immediately. Facing an unexpected Daxamite resistance force, Mongul decides to retreat, claiming to have found a
much more suitable planet for the Fear Corps to inhabit.
Meanwhile, a giant black meteorite floats deep out in space against a backdrop of the War of Light. Suddenly it bursts open and from it pour out countless Black Lantern rings calling for one thing -
FLESH!
