PLOT:
While the big three (Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman) meet in a secret inter-dimensional bubble to discuss the future of the league, Red Arrow and Hawkgirl respond to a bank robbery in progress.
The robber is a man by the name of Mike Miller, the Human Flame. Ages ago he was
apprehended by the Martian Manhunter - an event which forever ruined his life. Humiliated by the experience, Miller now sticks mostly to small but still reasonably profitable low-risk
jobs. Unfortunately for him he now finds himself face to face with two of the members of the Justice League.
Human Flame holds his ground for awhile, taking out the police and Red Arrow with his flame thrower but is caught less than a quarter mile from the crime scene by Hawkgirl. Before he can be taken in however, a masked man named Libra
steps in and saves Miller and puts Hawkgirl out of commission. Libra extends a hand to Miller and asks Miller to follow him.
Back at the Hall, Red Tornado is briefing Hawkgirl and Firestorm on Human Flame and Libra. Libra, he tells them, was an alien warlord responsible for assembling the original Injustice League. After absorbing too much energy he ascended to
a higher plane of existence and his power is incalculable.
Human Flame and Libra arrive at their destination - a run down strip club in Central City. Inside are several super villains including Lex Luthor and Grodd. After introducing Flame to the group, Libra offers Miller the same thing he offered the rest -
in exchange for their cooperation, he promises to fulfill their every desire. For Mike Miller his wish is simple - enough power to defeat the man who humiliated him and sent his
life spiraling downward so long ago, Martian Manhunter.
Elsewhere on a distant planet, J'on J'onzz's fiery prison cell finally finishes disintegrating. Without a moments hesitation he turns around and leaves the planet through a Boom Tube.
NOTE:
At one point in the story while Wonder Woman is instructing Batman on how to gain access to the secret chamber, Batman picks up on
and makes mention of the phrase "Open Channel D." This is a catchphrase from the old TV series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.".
