PLOT:
Staunch atheist, Mr. Terrific attempts to communicate with the exiled god of the Third-World but receives no response. Believing that Gog might not be responsive because of Terrific's dis-belief, Amazing Man attempts to ask Gog a question.

Although Gog responds to Amazing Man, he realizes that there is work to be done and quickly parts company and heads towards a village nearby. The village's water supply had been poisoned by a recent volcanic eruption and Gog uses his powers to save the people.

With that crisis averted, Gog pauses for a moment to explain how he came to Earth as the result of being exiled from the Third World for choosing not to take place in the war between the gods which destroyed it. Entombed in the cave for time out of mind, Gog was worshipped by the locals until William Matthews discovered him and was driven mad by the exposure. Gog assures the Society that Matthew's ways were not his own.

Fearing that Gog is playing them, Damage refutes Gog's claims that he is here to save everyone. Sensing the pain and anger within Damage, Gog decides that Damage should enjoy his life and uses his powers to heal the wounds which for so long forced Damage to wear the mask that reminded him of his absent father.

Elsewhere, Black Adam murders two intruders who break into his wife Isis's grave.
