PLOT:
Michael Holt's heart may have stopped beating, but thanks to Alan Scott's powerful green ring his body has been kept in stasis ever since. It may have been hours since his death was pronounced but inside Green Lantern's protective aura only seconds have passed. There still may be time to revive him if Dr. Fate's spell is powerful enough to shock the body back to life. The only question is whether or not the
sorcerer can hold his strength and concentration up long enough to give the spell the potency it needs. Can he prove himself truly worth of his mantle?
Meanwhile, the investigation continues into Mr. Terrific's murder. They know that Billy Armstrong was the one who disabled Terrific's protective T-Spheres and stabbed him, but did he do so under his own volition? Or was he being manipulated by someone else? Perhaps someone with powers of illusion like fellow new recruit King Chimera?
Upon further restoration of the security footage, Jay is able to see that the All American Kid was obviously under some form of mind-control at the time of the murder. Though this
revelation does nothing to ease the tension between Magog and Wildcat it does clear Billy of the murder and puts the focus of the investigation solely on King Chimera.
King (who claims to have no other name) is offended at the mere implication of him having anything to do with such a heinous act. So much so that he refuses to sit for questioning and, using his powers to open the locked doors, excuses himself from the interrogation room. Both Liberty Belle and Power Girl go after Chimera but his powers of illusion allow him to escape their grasp. It isn't until Kara decides to implement some good old fashioned super-breath that the magician is knocked off his game and sent flying. Unfortunately at just that moment a giant explosion destroys the entire room's wall! The Brownstone is under attack!
Dr. Polaris had bailed out those that were captured and the team of rogues has re-united in
pursuit of the lofty bounties placed over the heads of the JSA! It doesn't help matters much when Magog calls for a retreat while Citizen Steel orders the team to stand their ground leaving many of his teammates confused as to what they should do. Even though both Green Lantern and Power Girl head towards the fray, it may not be enough!
