PLOT:
After five days of walking, Gog decides to rest on the sixth day just thirteen miles outside of Kahndaq. He gives his followers two options - spend their day praying for their fellow man or spread the good word of Gog. Knowing that his non-follower JSA teammates would be sewing seeds of doubt elsewhere, Damage sets out to counter their disbelief by preaching of Gog's good graces.

While Grant begins to proselytize, Nate (Citizen Steel) heads to Columbus, OH to be with his remaining family members. Although still waiting to be cured of his condition by Gog, Nate keeps the faith and smiles happily as his loved ones shower him in hugs and kisses he cannot feel.

Meanwhile, Superman is troubled by the similarities between the rift amongst the Justice Society and the divisive super-hero infighting that lead to his Earth's destruction. He heads to Washington to meet with this Earth's Wonder Woman. Superman explains that he's worried that this Wonder Woman may one day cross the line and provoke a battle as his Wonder Woman had. Diana explains that while she would like to live in a world where war and violence are unnecessary the sword must at some point be drawn.

While Earth-22's Man of Steel is left speechless by Wonder Woman, Starman is in Metropolis to start the last leg of his ultimate mission. Walking into an unemployment office Starman hands the clerk his letter of recommendation from his doctor. He is given the job he requested - a city grave digger at the local cemetery.

Back in New York, Dr. Mid-Nite is beginning to come to terms with the devastating downside of Gog's miracles. Like a larger than life monkey's paw, every wish Gog has granted has turned sour. Though cured of his blindness, Dr. Mid-Nite can no longer perform the myriad of super-tasks he once was able to. Likewise, Sandman finds himself sleeping peacefully at night for the first time. But without his prophetic nightmares he's unable to locate an abducted child in time before he dies.

Leaving the scene of the crime, Sandman begins to get a migraine. Sensing the Earth's shifting and healing, he travels through the planet's asthenosphere. There he learns a startling truth. Teleporting back to the Justice Society library, Sandman finds Mr. Terrific and Jakeem wading through pages and pages of scriptures talking about Gog. Sandman tells them that after Gog inhabits the Earth for seven days, a terrible fate will befall the planet.

Worried about Damage and how his affiliation with such an unknown factor like Gog could hurt the Society's reputation, Courtney abducts Grant during one of his sermons. After being given a new face his ego has grown out of control and she is unable to get through to him. She takes him to Atom Smasher hoping that the giant will be able to talk some sense into his protégé's son. But Grant doesn't want to hear anything that the disgraced JSA member has to say. Proving his point he blows up his father's old house, incinerating years of memories he has no use for. When the rest of the JSA shows up to stop him, Magog intervenes and takes him back to Gog.

Back at Gog's encampment, Gog receives word that he is in fact welcome in Kahndaq. Pleased by the offerings placed before him, Gog demands that those present bow down and worship him.
