PLOT:
Although Magog immediately bows down to worship at the feet of Gog, the others, including Hawkman are a bit more hesitant. Before Gog can convince Hawkman and the others to fall in line, Jay Garrick arrives and whisks away Gog's followers. Moving so fast that he can barely been seen, Jay urges the others not to bow to Gog as his benevolence comes at a terrible price. Sandman, along with the rest of the JSA, arrives to back up Jay's claims. He tells the others that Gog is in fact beginning to root himself to the Earth's core holding it hostage so that in the event that he should be moved from the planet, he would tear away a chunk of the Earth with him.

As Gog's mood darkens, a storm begins to roll in and while Jay Garrick continues to whir past Gog's feet, a bolt of red lightning falls from the sky and strikes him. The shock begins to transform Jay Garrick's body into pure speed force, turning him into a state of constant reverberating energy. Even the JSA members who had been following Gog are motivated into action and the group begins to attack the god, attempting to knock him down.

Angered by this betrayal, Gog begins to revoke his gifts - taking back Dr. Mid-Nite's vision, returning Sand's night terrors, reverting Damage's face and re-instating Starman's dementia with such fervor that no medicine will ever cure it. Gog's retribution does not stop there however as he also worsens the condition of Citizen Steel making it so that even his suit does not shield him from his body's immense pain.

Finally forced to see Gog for what he truly is, even his herald David Reid turns on him and in return Gog takes away what he had given him as well - his life.
