PLOT:
Michael Holt decides that it's time to throw a wrench into Jason Burr's game of cat and mouse. Going on the offensive, Terrific and the JSA track the stellar radiation blooms of the Erdel Gates. In the past two days they've busted up about a dozen different Kobra facilities culminating in the capture of one of the few remaining Bestoweds - a highly valuable Kobra blood magician. This aggressive proactive technique doesn't exactly please Jessica Midnight the interim Black Queen of Checkmate. But what other option do they have? Checkmate has been jeopardized and at this juncture they cannot be trusted.

Michael begins to realize that this has now become a battle of the wills. It's the Faith in Kali Yuga versus the Faith the members of the Justice Society have in each other and their team. And for once it's beginning to look as though the forces of good could be coming up on top as the JSA infiltrates a hidden Kobra facility on Dragon Island off the coast of Spain - Jason Burr's personal headquarters!

Rushing the unsuspecting Kobra guards, the JSA makes a b-line for Jason when who should show up but Ariadne Persakis... and she's changed! Ariadne was supposed to be rotting in a cell at Blackgate but Jason's blood magic had found her and turned her into a walking snake monster, his Erdel technology beaming her directly to their location.

But the acidic poison coursing through her bloodstream is too much for her and the venom begins to burn through her from the inside out. In seconds, Jason Burr's number one henchperson is reduced to nothing but smoldering bones. With his back up against the wall, Burr evacuates the facility and beams himself to Washington DC. Hurt over the loss of Ariadne, Burr sets his sights on the Capital building and the oblivious citizens who surround it. Is this the end of Kobra or the impetus of a catastrophic national disaster?
