I would really like it if they adapted the Crimson Mist trilogy to the DC cartoons that they recently started making. That would be really cool. I don't think it would work in live action because part of the effect in the comic is Kelley Jones's art style.
You guys talk about a dark Batman, pick up any issue of Batman from around #525 to #562. The Doug Moench/Kelley Jones run is a true dark Batman.

That would probably be pretty spoilerish, so be cautious if you find out information like that. I doubt that there'll be much told about that officially until the movie is released.

yeah... definitely NO vampire batman. That wouldn't be that great imo.
now about the cut smile.... if you refer to the newer batman confidential story, there may be some hints as to what happens to the joker. Tread carefully tho

Dang! That poster is awesome! I love it!
As for the Joker's smile, I have no clue. He could have cut it himself, it could have been an accident, could have been the chemicals, etc.

A crew member involved in the filming of the new Batman movie has died in a car accident on the set, according to Reuters.
The Dark Knight special effects technician was killed when his 4x4 vehicle crashed into a tree during a dummy film run involving the Batmobile.
The incident happened on a property near Chertsey, Surrey, on Monday afternoon.
Surrey Police and the Health and Safety Executive said they were investigating a workplace fatality on a London film set.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
