All depends on your preferences. Personally, I stick with comic book-styled figures, so I've passed on all of the BTAS, TNBA, and most of the TB figures. Zipline Batman from the first Mattel wave is still my favorite Batman figure.

That?s a tough question and hard to pinpoint an answer.

Action figures come and go. Zipline Batman was the favorite for a longtime, but I think the third wave of DC SuperHeroes had the best Batman (and Batgirl) figure ever done.

The mid sized Tyco R/C Batmobile that jumped is one of my all time favorites, with the Rich Man?s Toys R/C Batmobile (from Batman and Batman Returns) a close second.

Corgi made the definitive line of 1:43 scale die casts of the Batmobile with so many different models from DC Comics and every Batman fan should have all of them. The Hot Wheels 1:18 scale die casts of the Batmobile (Batman and Batman Begins) are hard to pass up as well.

That is a very hard question to answer. I do like the Zip-Line Batmans, but I like any of the animated Batman Figures (BTAS, TNBA, and The Batman figures). And I like any comic figure.winkSmile:pbig grin

Zipline Batman is great, but newer figures have come out since that some fans may consider superior, like the Batman from Series 1 of DC SuperHeroes. Even more recently was the Series 3 Batman which was available as a single and in a Target exclusive 2-pack with Batgirl.

DC Direct has also put out a great Jim Lee styled Batman in Series 1 of Hush. And more recently, Series 2 of Crisis on Infinite Earths featured Batman in his classic '80s/'90s look.

Many fans also like the larger "Ultimate" figures (around 12-15" tall). So if that's your thing, and you don't want to buy too many items, there have been some really cool ones for the past movies as well as some newer ones by Mattel. The problem is that, much like basic figures, they don't all fit the exact same scale amongst other lines. Many of them are also very limited in articulation, and older ones may go for high prices on eBay.

Of course, I'm only referring to action figures. As mentioned, there are many different vehicle models as well as "toy" vehicles for action figures. One of my favorite items in my personal collection is a 1966 tin lunchbox I got for $40, which has an old fashioned appeal from a time that I wasn't even apart of. Then there are my Ertl die-cast mini statues that have a sense of nostalgia for me. If you haven't been a Batman fan until recently, the items may not offer much nostalgia, but it all depends on what you're into.

And try not to let us tell you what's "hip" or not - look around and see what you like. wink I think it's safe to say that most fans on here never had someone telling them the essential purchases or swaying them. It should be able what interests you personally.

Love that username by the way, BornAgainBatman. big grin

This is my choice for greatest Batman action figure to date. There are a few details I would change to make it perfect-- going with a black and gray color scheme rather than blue and gray, for instance-- but it's still unmatched. It's a near-perfect balance of sculpt, paint apps, and articulation. And if you get it with Batgirl in the two-pack, both figures are a steal!

The Alex Ross Series Two Justice Batman is one of the best.

I also like the Wave 2 DC Superheroes Batman.

Can't say much about that batgirl, tho...she seems too 'manly'..

Hope that helped

eBay may be your only source for the two pack. I only saw three at retail and after Christmas it may be hard to find.

The two-pack has been gone for a while around here, but Target had some more put out this past Friday, as well as more of both Superman two-packs. Looks like they're restocking.

I agree with Beyonds comment. There have been so many different incarnations of Batman over the years that its hard to pin point the best. Its all up to your particular tastes and what image of Batman strikes you the most.

For me, the greatest Batman toy isnt a figure, its a vehicle. The Batmissile Batmobile from Returns. I find figures to be pretty basic in nature, it takes alot to impress me with a fig.

You sure have been gone a while. Good to have ya back.

As for the Batmissle, that's definitely one of my favorite Batman toys too. Funny story: I got the Batmissle for my birthday from my mom's friend in '93. Meanwhile, she gave my older brother a generic - yet still nice looking - dinosaur because he was into Jurrasic Park at the time. But our oldest brother got a cork board because he was apparently too old for toys. He was so horribly upset, and to this day, the part about being "too old" still isn't true; he collects figures just like the other two of us do. Smile
