it was neat to see it but I think I prefer the style in BTAS and STAS

In my opinion it does not work. It just makes it sorta silly and PHONY.
I would've prefered the BTAS/STAS style toon. Leave anime to the japanese.
The only ones that were successful at making anime without being japanese was Avatar the last airbender...and the actually created a product better than 99% of the anime thats out there. Why? Because it has everything including a story/dialogue that you can understand without knowing japanese culture.
