Yeah, I saw the whysoserious trailer site, then it turned into rent-a-clown!
They are going too far with this clown stuff! It is terrible stuff, I mean all they did was put a Joker face on pictures of people!

The Why-so-serious viral campaign involved a treasure hunt of sorts in San Diego, the people involved were given make-up similiar to the Joker's, the photos on rent a clown are actually a gallery of said people.

excellent marketing on WB's part. I was following most of what was happening with the participants in WSS.com's treasure hunt. Very cool haha.

Some of you may remember that WhySoSerious.com was replaced by a hyperlink to a fake rent-a-clown site.
Well, WhySoSerious.com is back up with an image of a Jack-O-Lantern, complete with a Bat shaped mouth whole.
So looks like Joker's giving us a little treat (or maybe a trick) for Halloween.

EDIT didn't notice this before, but Jett from BOF was kind enough to point out that the Jack-O-Lantern is from the long Halloween. Nerdgasm!

I'm just really extatic that they're referancing the Long Halloween, which is my favorite Batman comic thus far, in their marketing campaign.
It's especially cool because The Long Halloween and Dark Victory's plots seem to be an important inspiration for the film... So it's cool to have an acknowledgement lol
19/10/07: Update: The candle in the Jack-O-Lantern is burning down a little each day, so it looks as though it's counting down to Halloween.

The candle's really melted now, we will probably get the update this weekend.
As for what the update is about... Well, anyone else notice that the left side of the Jack-O-Lantern's face is rotting?

Spoil us with the Joker, Two-face should be that hook that draws us into the movie, so we shouldn't see a damn thing til the theaters!
I'd be able to live with it if they did what they did with the first Joker pic, teasing us without really spoiling us. But for god's sake don't spoil us ever! That would be the equivelent of saying "Liam Neeson's playing Ra's Al Ghul" I mean with all the hype around the Joker you don't have to show us anything of Two-face until the movie!

I also have a feeling that they will also be doing a teaser pic of Two-Face. It started making sense once I saw the left half of the pumpkin rotting. |

I hope it's just a teaser, I do not want them to spoil Two-face!
Maybe they can do something like having half his face in shadow, but with a little scarring visible down the middle. Or maybe a still of the shot that was at wizard world, showing the scaring on his neck. Or maybe take a page out of Long Halloween and show him in bandages, with just enough skin visible to see that he's Two-face.
Whatever the case, it looks as though we're going to find out what it is tomorrow.
