I think Phil's right, they're using the old Begins logo, only a little darker. And the velvet backround isn't really Batman; usually they use an emtpy looking backgroung, to impose the lonely feeling of the movie. I believe the real poster will resemble the current teaser of the bat logo forming from a shattering pane of black glass.
Sorry Chris, but I don't believe they're teaser poster will elude to the Joker; but maybe one of there later ones will. I think the "HAHAHAHAHA!" idea is a little... Campy, I guess; perhaps the Joker card from Begins; would be better.

He's betting your one of arms because they're valuable. If it were possible he'd lose, he'd have bet one of mine.

That's a great shot of the suit. I can see it is indeed black.
Now I realize why they did such an unimpressive reveal; they had to shoot in public, so they intercepted the "Paparazzi".

I've got a few problems with it. One its ugly. I'm having a hard time evnisioning it in the film. Two, its got machine guns and cannons. I hope he won't use it to kill people but to overcome obstacles like the Tumbler did in the first film. Third, I REALLY hope the name "Bat-Pod" does not stay in the film. Nolan's direction is very serious and dramatic tone. I feel that if they start adding the "bat" in front of them, it'll take away from the dark theme it succeeded. It reminds me of the campy 60s series and the Joel Shumacher films. I'll be content if they just call it the Pod. And I hope there's a good backstory to it too.
I hope the cycle will exceed expecations. I had the same opinions of the Tumbler when I first saw it in 2004. I thought it was hideous but after seeing it in action, its my favorite Batmobile of all time.

Thanks, Nate. That's badass.
Fret not kpangilinan
First, I think the "Batpod" looks great.
Second, Nolan is not a moron; he just spent an entire movie establishing the fact that Bruce doesn't like killing people, he will not make Batman kill people.
Third; before we knew the Tumbler by name, we called it the batmobile; the "Batarang" was never named in film; and neither was the "Batcave". The addition of the word "Bat" was only used for marketing and production. And if they do use the "batblank" pattern, I bring you back to the second point, Nolan is not a moron; his movies are about removing camp from Batman... He'd do it in a clever way if he does it at all.

Lets not forget, the Batmobile has missles, so having some kind of guns on the Bat"pod" should be ok.

I think it looks great. I know I said that I wouldn't like Batman on a motorcyle but this is obviously different then just a motor cycle, I guess I was picturing Batman on a street bike and didn't like it.
Anyway, yeah, "Bat-Pod" is a pretty lousy name, but oh well...whatever. |

I agree. My first thought was that maybe it comes off of or out of the Tumbler Batmobile like the Bat Missile of Batman Returns.
Note to Mattel DON'T mold a figure on the toy of this!

I am just wondering why they are calling it the Batpod instead of the Batcycle. Other than that i like the design. |
