This guy, Christopher Eccleston, may be THE Joker. Look at him:

But there's also Luchey Hulme:

(I took someone else's manip and color corrected it)
If you can't see it:

(Made by Lee Bermejo)
This manip of Paul Bettany doesn't hit me or suit me:

But of course there's the fan favorable Crispin Glover:

I don't know about you guys but does anyone want the Joker from Arkham Asylum?

You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.

Of those, I'd have to go with Crispin Glover or Christopher Eccleston. I like the subtler "creepy" look - it makes him seem more dangerous, like the BTAS Joker (calm one moment, raging insanity the next). |

the lee bermejo would make most sense, do you really think someone would fall into a vat of chemicals and not be scarred or hurt, he only got his skin bleached and his hair turned green(dont get me wrong, that sucks!)i think he would also suffer some burnings as well, which that conecpt shows

i just edited a picture of paint. i not too good at drawign etc so had to do it this way.
but still i think u can see, that, Ryan Reynold's looks alot like Joker.

have to say tho, ur Crispin Glover looks great as Joker. got that scary smerk aint he.

it always makes me wonder. in 89' Batman, the Jokers hair isnt always green.
whats that about!
its only green when he has his make up on.
but surely if u got dropped into a vat of chemicals, it would be permantly green.
i mean what did joker do in 89' batman, dye it 4/5 times a day!
please let Nolan handle it better! |

Crispin Glover would be brilliant. He's been my choice all along. He's sadistic and would bring a whole new spin on the character. |

Phoenix is too young. They need someone like Crispin Glover or Willem Dafoe. That Christopher Eccleston guy looks really good if they are trying to make him look like the B:TAS Joker.

why do they need an old joker? the age of him is never established so the field is wide open.

He doesn't need to be old, I just think he should be a few years older than Batman. Phoenix just seems to much like a young guy to me.

Age and level os how crazy psycho murderer he gets will probably determine the actor.
This is Joker's first appearance in Gotham, so will he be uber psychotic and totally out of control, or will he be the more suave and little more controlled Joker?

here's some info from our good friends over at BOF (treat this as a rumour):
And it seems that Nolan, Warner Bros., and company may actually be looking for a "name" star/actor in the role of The Joker. Here's what Clint's source had to say:
"As you know, there are many actors who want the chance to do this character (The most requested Batman character next to Batman himself.) The studio is eyeing a major, major actor and Christopher Nolan himself is said to be just as excited as they are in nabbing him for the role. Who is he? Let?s just say that he has a major film coming out this summer and it?s a sequel to one of his biggest hits."
Johnny Depp. I've heard this one before, but I pulled his name from the "potential Joker" list. Frankly, while I feel an "unknown" would be best, Depp -- whom I love as an actor -- would be the one "big name" I could see in the role. My criteria for The Joker is that the actor needs to just disappear into the role. Depp would do this, no doubt. I smell an op-ed on this in the future (Thanks to all the BOF'ers who sent in the lead)...
"I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me"
Check out my fan fics!!!
