if there would be a robin in one of the batman begins sequels, would the actor in the batman and robin(the one with george clooney) movie who played robin be up to the part of robin again?

You're referring to Chris O'Donnell. Hate to disappoint ya, but Robin, if he does appear, will likely be a lot younger. O'Donnell's about 37 now...a little old for "The Boy Wonder."
I'm hoping Robin does show up in the new films at some point and if that happens, I think Nolan and WB will distance themselves as far from B&R as possible. |

*jlbatman* There can be no Robin until at least the 5th film in the new Batman Begins Franchise. It would definately ruin the film series. Just Batman that is it. They already ruined Spiderman 3 by entering Venom without the secret wars storyline. Keep Robin in ELSEWORLD! ::thejoker:: |

I wouldnt say they ruined spidey, just spiced it up. judge it after you've seen the movie. anyways getting back on topic even just having robin in for a cameo and then hinting at his future (seeing alfred make his costume or somthing) would satisfy me
"I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me"

i dont think robin wud mess up the franchise. kids love seeing robin. robin wud just be a way to attract a different audience. surely there are more movie goers that are kids/teens than adults. robin's appearance wud just boost up the franchise....if done right atleast.

Kids love fart jokes too. Do you want to laod up the sequels with those as well?
And you know that kids under 12 are NOT the industry's main movie goers, right? People 18-35 are. And I'm tellin' you right now, the majority of them DON'T want to see a Robin anytime soon.

That's an oxymoron. Sidekicks, particularly Robin, are campy by definition.

true but i still think my idea would work. even just having a hint tossed our way about his future would be good enough. no one would have to suffer through corny one liners or anything of that sort.

All characters evolve. It's part of what has made Batman last all these years. Let us not forget that there was a time when Batman was found on the beaches of Gotham doing the "Batusi." He had to evolve for a modern audience.
Robin is part of the mythology. If he is to be included in the films, and I think he should be, then he too will have to evolve. The Burt Ward idea of Robin was fine for the 1960s but it doesn't work today. Robin is a great character with infinite opportunities for intriguing storylines. He can be done for a modern audience just as any other character can. If you really don't believe that, then you lack creative vision. |

its not that i lack creative vision, its just that for robin too work in batman begins the character would have to change ALOT. And if they change him too much hes not the robin we know, so that'd be dumb. but bottom line is while robin works in the comics, he just doesnt work in the movies.

But don't a lot of you hate the "Robin we know" anyway? I know Parker certainly does.
The biggest change would have to come with his suit. Bats' suit is pretty different from the comics anyway, so I see no problem with that.
Remove the bright colors, because outside of comics and cartoons that doesn't work. Also don't make him so young. Have him be 16 or even 18 (but this would need to be like movie 4 or something so Bruce seemed much older) and the protoge Bruce is training because he knows he can't keep doing it forever as time is catching up with him.
If he had a dark, modern suit (like the Batsuit, minus the ears) and wasn't 10 years old, I think he could work very well in the aforementioned scenario without changing the basis of the character... Dick Grayson, acrobat, parents died, Bruce sees his potential and needs an eventual heir.
Granted it would all depend on how it was handled, but that's true of anything. Done right, it could be very good and still perfectly believable in the world of Batman Begins. |

thats fine and all, but how would time be catching up with batman if he literally JUST BEGAN. at the moment there is no need for robin STORYWISE. we already saw what an old robin was like(batman and robin) and it wasnt good.
