I got a ska version of the Batman Movie/TAS danny elfman theme a while ago before P2P started giving people spyware, and it would work so well with a montagefrom the various Timm series.
Papa Roach's Between Angels and Insects would be fairly good for it, but Nu-Metal died a death years ago.
Cold by Static-X would work, it's got the whole vampirey thing, and vampires = bats.
Ghost Town (Specials) would be OK I guess, representing Gotham, the ghosts being the Waynes; "Do you remember the good old days before the Ghost Town?"
Another about Gotham would be I Want My City Back by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, but it's a bit happy sounding I guess.
The Misfits' Scarecrow Man would be cool for a certain character.
And AFI's God Called In Sick Today would be decent for a more heartfelt kind of song
And isn't there a utility that allows you to take clips from DVDs? that would work enough to get plenty of footage, and I know for a fact there is a program that extracts FMV footage from PS2 games, and with games like Vengeance and Rise of Sin Tzu about, it should give some decent clips

Heck, there's plenty of Nu Metal bands still around: Disturbed, System of a Down, Static-X, Cold, Korn, Mudvayne... And even if a sub genre "dies," who gives a hoot? If it's good music, and you like it, enjoy it. I have a huge collection of Nu Metal CDs and I listen to 'em all the time - even some lesser known groups like Pressure 4-5, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Grade 8. ...Huh. Didn't realize they all have number names...
Anyway, I've been wanting to make music videos using clips of Batman movies and animated series, but I probably need some more software. If I had the right stuff, I could have a lot of fun. I'll make sure and post them on here if I do.

and maybe "evil angel"... depends I guess-Breaking Benjamin
"take it all away"--faktion
"good as you think"-- seven wiser
"ascend" -- Panic Value
"I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me"
how about "Start Something", "To hell we ride", "Last train home" by Lostprophets/ "Riot", "Time of Dying", and "Pain" by Three Days Grace. "Die for you" Amity Lane.
"I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me"
For something rockin', I'd say "Headspace" by Velvet Revolver.
I'd also think of "Superman" by Five For Fighting might work.
"Somewhere I Belong" & "By Myself" by Linkin' Park also have potential.
"S*** Towne" by Live would work very well for discribing Gotham, but unfortunatly the S-word is a very important lyric.
Foo Fighters' "Learn To Fly" would work well, but it's to happy.
And about the whole "Lyrics aren't as important as atmosphere" thing, I completely disagree; the first thing I pay attention to in a song is the lyrics, and to play a song about the how your girlfriend left you while Batman is beating up a bunch of thugs is just morronic.
And people do make such stupid connections, all across America people thing "Every Breath You Take" by The Police is one of the most romantic songs out their; but if you listen to the lyrics you realize it's from a stalker's point of view.

Hahah. Great song, but not my idea of a good representation of Gotham. It's got such a bright and upbeat feel to it. And the lyrics would just sound a little silly anyway when you're trying to describe this dark, corrupt city. If any song off Throwing Copper would fit Batman, perhaps "White Discussion?"

...Did I mention a song about a break-up or something? I certainly don't remember that. :| Personally, in terms of Batman-related songs, I'd prefer ones with lyrics that aren't terribly prominent and distracting from the mood. I agree that they should fit the subject matter, but the atmosphere is very crucial. For example, Johnny Cash may have written some pretty dark (and good) songs, but I don't think his simple old folk style would work well with Batman.

30 seconds to mars is an awesome band. The Kill, Savior, and Battle of One would be good for a what if batman soundtrack.
Almost like life, freeze, and god failed by HourCast would be good too. Saferwaters, straight jacket fashion, and well enough by chevelle would be awesome. Saferwaters would fit nicely, especially with the line "the city's saving grace, but whoever knows, nobody knows". Maybe I'll make a vid out of it, if I can get some new footage
lyrics for "saferwaters" by chevelle
The city's saving grace
But whoever knows, nobody knows
Why he rolled the eyes back
Why he rolled those eyes, those heartless eyes
Pre-Chorus:
Well I won't pretend to lie once more
Protect my mind aside
You say goodbye
Keep all the things, you mark the place where I exist
Chorus:
Our world is calling
So I'm crawling back to sea
Against the surge of waves that
Held us, with that ancient grip beneath
Retreat to safer waters
Still learning what chaos kills
But whoever cares, nobody cares: like you do
Why we don't bend in time, just shut the door
Why we come to the wall, claim less is more

Hhhmmm. I can sort of see that, but I'm debating if it would work. Maybe....
I totally agree with Cale - HipHop isn't what Batman is about. I'm all for breaking barriers down and occasionally doing the unthinkable, but I can't see Batman rhyming somehow.
The Batman Begins soundtrack is awesome. Late at night, relatively quietly, it's the perfect CD to read comics to. That's what I call Batman music.

I've been a long time fan of Hans Zimmer, so Batman Begin's soundtrack was a dream come true for me.
The only song I can think of from outside the soundtracks that fits Batman is "Pain Lies on the Riverside" by Live. It's lyrics fit Begins pretty well;
I have never taken life,
and yet I have often paid the price.
And you, you are a victim of this age;
and the guilt that hangs around your neck
has got me locked up in a cage.
You've got to learn to live until no end,
But first you must learn to
swim all over again,
because...
Pain lies on the river side,
and pain will never say goodbye.
Pain lies on the riverside;
So put your feet in the water...
put your head in the water...
put your soul in the water
and join me for a swim tonight.
Never start with the head; the victim gets all fuzzy!

the lyrics fit batman perfectly... except for the last few lines lol
I'm walking through your streets
I'm looking in your windows
I am elemental now
You'll never even know I'm there
I'm watching over you
I'm living in the shadows
I'm just a word to you
But I am very real
And cold...
Cold to all of this
Cold to how you feel
Cold to all your lose of reason
I AM EVERYTHING
I AM ANYTHING
I AM AUTOMATIC
I AM YESTERDAY
I AM EVERYDAY
I AM GONNA BE...
I'm all there is to know
I'm all that you've forgotten
I'am enigmatic now
You never even knew my name
I'm dressed tragedy
I'm by design immortal
I'm just the last one left
I'm always here and old...
Old and very strong
Old as all you feel
Old as all the world around you
I AM EVERYTHING
I AM ANYTHING
I AM AUTOMATIC
I AM YESTERDAY
I AM EVERYDAY
I AM GONNA BE...
REBORN (This is the start of something)
REBORN (This is the start of something)
REBORN (This is the start of something)
RE...BORN
I'm just a secret now
I'm just a vague illusion
I'm a lie you tell yourself
That you never truly did believe
I'm a whisper in the dark
I'm a victim and the killer
I'm almost ready now
But you insist that I dont exist...
That I don't exist...
That I don't exist...
That I don't... EXIST
I AM EVERYTHING
I AM ANYTHING
I AM AUTOMATIC
I AM YESTERDAY
I AM EVERYDAY
I AM GONNA BE...
REBORN (This is the start of something)
REBORN (This is the start of something)
REBORN (This is the start of something)
RE...BORN
