Are you asking which pair of Batman's pants are the best? I'm joking. The best Batman artists, in my opinion, are Alex Ross and Jim Lee. There are a lot of other great ones, but these two define the styles.

I think I'm the best comic book artist!! Lol!! Well besides myself, Jim Lee is definitly my favorite artist.
Ian Churchill's art looks good too from what I've seen batchat post.
I hate reading comics, where I could draw better.

I don't think anyone can deny that Alex Ross is probably the best artist there is in comics today. Apart from him, I like Jim Lee, Steve Dillon, Tim Bradstreet and Ed McGuiness. Favourite Writers are Jeph Loeb and Garth Ennis without a doubt.

Number one no doubt is Jim Lee. My second favorite is the guy who did Detective Comics in the early to mid90s. Jim Aparo I think? Or Chuck Dixon? I can't remember. |

That was Graham Nolan, a favorite of mine. (Dixon was the writer.) My other favorites are:
-Norm Breyfogle
-Jim Aparo
-Neal Adams
-Marshall Rogers
-Alex Toth
-Mike Parobeck
-Mazzuchelli
-Frank Miller
-Tom Mandrake
I'm not crazy about Jim Lee's Batman. Frankly, I think his style is better suited for Superman. Alex Ross is a rare talent, but his Batman is one of the few characters where I think he misses the mark. It still looks really good, just not definitive. Oddly, when Ross paints over Jim Lee's pencils, I think the resulting Batman is fantastic. Their two styles mesh extremely well, and result in a far better rendition of the character than either man is capable of on his own. Ross's paints over Braithwaite's pencils in Justice is awesome to behold, too. Still, Ross and Lee don't come close to making my "definitive" list.

i like jim lee's stuff the most. i used to like scott mcadniel, but his style is too cartoony for my tastes...it would look great in a cartoon though.

Jim Lee, hands down.
I really like what Don Kramer is doing now in Detective Comics. And Freddie Williams II does the best Robin to date. |
