I drew this picture of Batman and Batgirl in a Jim Lee style. The first picture is inked and the second I colored in photoshop. It's hard to see the detail in the colored one. I couldn't figure out how to make it bigger. This was only the second time I ever tried to draw a Jim Lee style picture. The original art work is 18 x 24 inches.
I'm hoping that someday I'll be good enough to work for DC, drawing comics. Actually I could ink or color too, but I don't have enough patience for that. Lol!! What do you guys think DC would be looking for in a portfolio? I know I need to develop my own style, instead of just copying Jim Lee's style.

Please don't use my pictures on any other site or for anything else without my permission.

Wow, batgirl, you really drew that? Thats very impressive! You should draw comics for a living! My only irk is that when I look at Batgirl's face I can't help but think Catwoman! But other than that it's simply amazing!

Yup!! I drew it, inked it, and colored it all!! Thanks!!
You're right it does look a lot like catwoman's mask, but Batgirl and Catwoman have very similar masks. The only difference is the ears I think.

Very nice. That looks like it was pulled straight off of a comic book cover.

Agreed, very nice work there. I really like the colored version, it helps make the characters "pop" more. |

WOW!!!
I've been away for a few days... and I come back to one of the best Batman pics that I've ever seen! This is amazing, batgirl. You are a skilled artist. This work is easily better than most of the 'professional' art in current comics. You should definitely draw comic books. DC would be foolish to pass you up.
If you ever do any comic work (anything, not just Batman), private message me so that I can purchase the issues that you draw. I'd be your biggest fan (and who knows, you might even displace Jim Lee and Ian Churchill as my fav. comic artists!).

Thanks!!! I'm glad you guys like it.
I would definitly tell everyone if I ever get a job working on comics. Hopefully I will someday!! The only place you can submit your artwork is at the comiccons, aren't they?
Well if you have photoshop Phil, there are some great tutorials on the internet that explain how to color stuff in photoshop.

Wow. I am in awe. You are a fine artist, I'd say I like this Batman even better than Jim Lee's, he's a little thiner and more realistic. I love the Batgirl, who happens to be one of my favorite characters. Though the Batarang doesn't look that arrow dynamic and the moon is a little to cratered, but I'm just to impressed by the characters, the gargoyles and the skyline to really care.

This is VERY NICE work! It makes me wish for the day when Barbara Gordon returns as Batgirl. I would also like to see what you do with Catwoman, too!

Thanks!!!!!! Wow, you really think that's as good as Jim Lee's!? It's like my goal in all of my comic book art to be as good if not better than Jim Lee. I know I have alot of work to do though, but the ego boot helps!! Lol!! I want to make sure my ar is perfect, before I try to get a job for dc comics.
wow awesome,do u got a bigger version of the coloured one?
I can't figure out how to get it any bigger here. I downloaded it to photobucket and it automatically resized it. The one I have is ove 700 pixels.

Yeah!! I really hope she's coming back!!! I can draw catwoman if you want. I don't think I've tried to draw her since I was little and saw Batman Returns. When we moved a while ago I found a picture I drew of catwoman when I was like 7. I've improved since then. Lol!!

That is incredible artwork, batgirl. I was skeptical as to whether you actually created it yourself. As said, the only problem I can see is that, in order to get a spot with a company as prestigious as DC, you'd need a more unique style - especially a style different than Lee's considering how huge he is and the number of current artists with styles similar to his. Either way, you should definitely keep persuing the craft. Better than I have anyway.
