Well read the whole damn thing. Hell, the batcave is based from the first four, and the batmobile is a intense version of the '89 car. When Yuko protrays Catwoman, she f-in' sexy!

Once you find it, sit down and read more than one-two pages. Then you'll see. Its a good mystery too.

In case you didn't know, the manga is based on elements from the Burton Batman movies like the bafcave and such. Even the batmobile is the keaton car, only the guy upgraded to an extreme version with 6 instead of 4 wheels, and 3 jets instead of 1.

That batmobile is on the batmobile history site.

Man, I just gotta break down and read this. I ordered this, but just keep putting off buying it. I should just smuggle it back to my office and just read it. I don't mind the art. At least you can tell which character is who. MOre than I can say for several american artists that have done the art on the main bat-books.

This is a book I put off buying on a regular basis. I guess the fact that it's $20 puts me off a bit, there's always several other things I can get for that price. I'll get it one of these days. I'm not big on anime or manga either, but it looks cool.

Does anyone know the plot? I'd be happy to give a review.

That is so right, why do they want to draw all wierd, just draw Batman where he looks like a human being.
I did flip through this book once, I never have enough money for graphic novels so I couldn't buy it. But I liked the art very much.

In case anyone asks, here's a overview/plot of the book:

Batman Child of Dreams is a manga made in 2000. Its considered an elseworlds but who know's.

THE PLOT:

A Japanese reporter comes to Gotham where she hopes to score an interview with Batman. However, she gets caught in the middle of a heist Two-Face is doing but she and her crew is rescued by Batman.

While she tries to get him for the interview, he escapes with his Batmobile but he then picks up what Yuko (the reporter) said about Two Face acting weird. Soon enough, the real Two Face is revealed to be in Arkham and the fake was the one doing the crime. However, another strange thing; the fake died and mummifed before he went to jail.

Now, with Batman, Bruce Wayne and Yuko in the middle of this bizarre incident, fakes of Penguin, Riddler, Joker, and Catwoman show up in Gotham. But the mystery isn't coming from Gotham, so when Yuko is reported back in Tokyo, Batman follows along to solve this mytery.

The question is; How far would you go to become your idol?

The book uses stuff similar to the Tim Burton Batman movies. Like the batcave has something Burton-like to it. The batmobile is the '89 one with upgrades to make it more intense. There are some creepy stuff but its a good mystery story.

Despite what people say about the drawings. Batman is handle great. Both in design, art, and direction of him in this story. He's a detetctive, that's all you need. Bruce Wayne is the playboy rich kid. As an example that this is an elseworlds, he runs his company himself. Superman is mentioned only once so he exists as well. But its unknown if any of Batman's allies (Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl etc.) exist too.

To explain the Batcave, its a mix bag of elements. There are levels with rooms, sickbays for example. There are two stations on each side. Main computer and science lab. And there's an area where the batmobile is located and the bridge to the exit of the cave is above the room levels.

The women like Yuko, Catwoman, and even the women he drew as a bonus of the book like Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy look hot. As for the rest, Alfred is the same despite the slight added weight. Joker is the same, Riddler, Two Face, Penguin is the same so Burton's version isn't used here. And Gordon is tradional.

Get the book. Forget that its a manga and you'll do fine.

10/10

Hey, has anyone ever came across this page: http://www.dccomi...es/bmcod/

It asks me for a password when I try and open it and I can't seem to find any info on the site that would indicate that I need to pay to read it.

You that haven't read it may want to look at what PPGvsBatman found. It is pretty interesting.
