I did, a I kept saying it was great. But like everyone is, they complain and say Batman as a manga sucks and that the book sucks even though they DIDN'T READ IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
JEEZ!
Anyway, its good more people are reading it.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.

I, and several other members of the board, don't criticize a comic until reading it. There was just one person that wasn't interested in it because they just didn't have the taste for manga art style. Art is a big part of the comic. Otherwise we might as well just read novels. So I understand someone not interested because of bad art. You should see the bad art in some of the stuff I have bought.
The other 4 or 5 members that posted in that thread had open minds about it. They just haven't gotten around to getting it. Some of us pick up more than one or two titles in a month so the comic budget is a little more tilted toward regular titles than trades. Read the thread HERE
I have thumbed through it and it doesn't look like the typical anime art. The women have that big eyed look, but Batman is dones really well. It is also the best movie style batmobile art I have seen in a comic (all 3 times the Burton batmobile has been in the comics)

I'm not big on a lot of anime and manga either, but I thought the art in this book was pretty damn good when I looked through it. Still haven't bought it yet, though. One of these days.
By the by, the only mangas I've read a lot of are the Lone wolf and Cub books, which are beyond awsome. I'm also gonna get the books based on Ju On ("The Grudge" when they come out, because I love those movies.
