i traded for this Keaton lifemask. it arrived today so i repainted the whole thing with a flesh basecoat. i couldnt find any paint that was close to a realistic lip color so i mixed my own, i used some nice gloss paint for the eyes. i still need to attach the emblem and adjust the overall fit of everything, but i took a test shot to give me a basic idea of what this will look like.

Excellent work! I know from experience how difficult it is to get realistic flesh tones, but you did a fantastic job. |

the Keaton face was taken from a lifecast. i do believe this one is molded in a thick hard resin. the cowl is actually the Returns commemorative cowl. i have a Returns resin emblem i will be attaching to it.

That is pretty friggin' cool. Basically creating your own life-sized Batman bust without paying a big wad.
To be honest, I'd go way darker on the flesh tones. Comparing it with the complexion of your hand in the photo is evident. Still damn cool though, thanks for sharing. I'd love to see a Joker one.

i know someone who did a really good paint job on one of these. i already have a question to him asking which flesh tone he used. mine isnt as light as the picture is showing, the flash really brightened it up, but i do want it a bit darker.

Hm. That is really cool, but maybe you could add some sort of strong poles onto the sides of the head to hold up the cowl ears more vertically. Are the ears hollow?

yeh, ears are hollow. chances are the face mask isnt going to stay in this Returns cowl. i have a trade worked out for a new 89 cowl made by a very talented individual. when that arrives, ill prolly use my old 89 for the display piece.
