Anouther Venom stage; No emblem, less muscle mass, and a smaller mouth. It kind of reminds me of the ads for that "Descent" movie. I'm having a preminition... One million small children going to see a happy Spider-man film are scared for life by a creepy Venom design.
I got them off another forum I go on... sorry, not sure how legit they are. Just thought I'd post them anyways
here are some more

**** All the shots with Topher Grace are PRE CGI. Venom will most likely be more bulkier and natural looking.

Dude, it's probably anouther stopgap design betweem Brock and Venom; from the looks of it's what Topher will wear with out the CGI.
Remember, this is the world of movie props; have you ever seen Lord of the Rings? In that movie they had a life-like puppet of actor Ian Holme for a shot where he transforms while trying to steal the ring from Frodo. Months of tedious work went into this puppet... But it only apeared on screen for less than a second.
This design could be nothing, or it could be everything. But considering we already have an official design; I'm guessing this will get very little screen time.
exactly. If anything it is a rough design they used that showcases topher's transformation into venom.

Having... Nerdgasm... To much... Venom!
The third pic on the second row is my Wallpaper pre CGI. This is awsome! Venom is just about my second favourite comic villian; so it's great to se his live action form is doing him justice... I never thought I'd see the day that Topher Grace would play a badass.
I hope they don't CG these to much... One of my many loves is movie props. And the costume and make-up seen in these photos are some of the highest quality stuff I've ever seen... I hope we get to see it in the film.
P.S. I note that this costume reflects light like latex... A quality that I used to debunk the preliminary Venom as a final design... Though I was right; I'm still eating my words.

no kiddin eh, especially after seeing him play eric in that 70's show lol
I don't think they'll CG these too too much, but we'll see. I agree with you when it comes to the quality of the make up and costume tho, they did an awesome job.
hehe, just a bit late

I've seen those photos before, pretty cool stuff. They are indeed pre-CGI. The mouth will be altered to look more like the comics, impossibly unhinged jaw and all. As long as they don't add the Gene Simmons tongue and green drool, I'll be fine with it.
That pencilled concept art is great! I haven't seen that before.

...meh i have to say i'm pretty bummed about venom. Not only does he look almost identical to spider-man but the mouth looks silly. instead of making it like in the comics, where he has a giant mouth it looks like someone just took spider-mans head in symbiote form in spider-man3, and drew on a little mouth. I'll reserve my final judgement till after i;ve seen the movie though...

Dude, his mouth is closed in these pics; so we can't get a gauge on his bite size. The image we saw earlier didn't have a logo, so it is not the final design!
Again look at the merchandise. Hasbro, Sideshow, and Medicom all use the impossibly unhinged jaw.

This is exactly what the merchandis looks like, note there is one ancilary desing with a tiny mouth, but the main design (Second row, first and second from the left) has a giant mouth an big tougue.
P.S. Ironically, Todd McFarlane drew Venom as a muscular Black suit Spidey with a smily mouth added. The "unhinged" jaw, "Gene Simmons" tongue, and the green "goo" were all added by his succesor, Erik Larsen.

... Do I have to say it again? That concept art is the final design!
Sorry BB99, he has the unhinged jaw. Please listen carefully, 'cause I'm only going to say this one more time.
All Venom merchandise revolving around Spider-man 3 uses the unhinged jaw... The previous concept art is the final design. The mouth looks small in the new trailer footage because his mouth is closed. The "Small mouth Venom" in those photos are either a transitional period or a pre-CG base costume.
If anyone ingores this post, I'm not saying this again... I just recomend that you guys go find a U.S. Toy-fare gallery and look up Hasbro and Sideshow.

so?that doesnt neccisareily mean he has the unhindged jaw,i read oyu post to thank you verymuch, but just because the merchandize has the unhinged jaw, doesnt mean he will in the movie, aslo, most of the time, merchandice is based of of earlier designs
and also, not sure if you seen the pic,but when the symbiote falls on brock and hes on the floor and fully becomes venom, his mouth is opened and he doesnt have an unhinded jaw,he did in the earlier footage/picture but i doubt he does now
also,if he had a big lower jaw,you would still notice it even when his mouth is closed
again,it is not unhinged

and funny thing is,thats a piece of merchandise lol and it doesnt have an unhinged jaw,im trying to find the trailer cap

The effects shots were all completed by January this year; Sideshow's and Hasbro's merchandise and the cover of "We are Venom" weren't unveiled until February and march... Your essentially saying that there was a giganitc miscommunication between the studio and every single artist and company that make the merchandise.
Actually, merchandise is closley created with the film. They aren't based on early designs, we'd have completely inaccurate toys if that were the case. Modern day figures are usually based on final props, in movie CG renderings, and digitial scans of the actors...
If you want to go with the "Venom has a closed mouth because two, mili-second long shots have a closed mouth" theory, go for it; but your going to be severly dissapointed when Venom is looks differant.
P.S. Look at the footage again... In the last seconds his jaw stretches around the camera... That's pretty much the definiton of "Unhinged".
Edit: An unhinged jaw is a jaw that lowers to an unrealistic level (as though it popped off the hinge)... That statue you linked to has a jaw that lowers to a level about four time lower than a human can lower it.
