Sideshow Collectibles has an image of a Medicom Toy Real Action Hero figure of Venom. It looks okay, but I am hoping that we get a little more detail in the movie version. The traditional Spidey-suit pattern looks a little odd on Venom too. Click the link to check it out.

The concept art has a white spider emblem and more subtle webbing, which gives it a nice Venomy look; the RAH version's weak logo defonition, combined with the fabricy suit and disproportionate body makes the figure look a little wanky, the Symbiote Spidey has the same problems.
Venome will look a lot cooler in the film.

Thank you xforeverxknightx, now we can get a better comparison.
Note that the figure looks like the webs are spray painted on, while in the concept it's part of the symbiote. Also note that the spider logo in the concept looks differant from the figure's, and they have differant webbing patterns.

The Spiderman movie looks to be awsome. Harry and Peter battling it out. Bringing in the Sandman as the man who really killed Uncle Ben and the love triangle between Peter, MJ, and Gwen Stacy. Plus the alien costume and than Venom becoming his next villan. I hope that the cast will do at least a couple more movies. I have heard two rumors now that Peter will kill Harry. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I can't wait for May 4th to get here. |

i think Spiderman 3 is going to be the best Spiderman Movie yet, i am really looking forward to seeing it, and i also can,t wait to see Venom, i wonder how Spiderman is going to beat him, it is going to be a great Movie. |

This doesn't disproove anything I said. The snipit we saw featured a Venom design that's quite differant than the one shown by Sideshow and Hasbro.
Considering that the effects shots weren't even done till about October, and that those who had seen the trailer mentioned that most of the effects shots were incomplete; I'd say thet the scene shown last July was preliminary footage, there to say either "Yeah, Venom's on his way" or "Look at this Venom while we hide the real design". The stuff at Wondercon was probably a lot more spiffy.
If not, than the Venom shown in the July footage is a midway point, before the suit develops the new Venom characteristics... Cause the Spider-man 3 video blog has video with Sam Raimi standing next to mold of Venom's chest, which look's exactly like what Sideshow is showing.
Remember that I was only debating the Venom design... Not the footage.

first of all i didnt post that in efforts to quote on quote disprove you. your like a 4 year old that needs to repeatedly scream out the same thing to make people believe him. In your case, that your speaking the truth. Calm down, take a breath and realize that you arent the center of the universe and that not everybody is out to get you and make you look stupid. The only reason i only named you and then said some other guys is because i only remembered you from the conversation on whether or not it was real or not. But tell me why sam raimi would go through such high levels to dupe fans? you are aware that there are more shots of venom that were revealed(if you read the article near the bottom they explain the scene) where venom appears and grabs spider-man by the head and throws him as well as the scene we already saw of him turning into venom and biting at the screen. In that scene venom's chest was to the ground so we couldnt see anything, he just looked black. Maybe in the scene with him grabbing spider-man you can see fully and he looks like the designs your saying are the real ones. And now that im re-reading this entire thread, i see you tried to use eddie brock suddenly not having his jacket as proof that the clip wasnt real. Well read the article i posted and they describe step by step that peter goes to the church that eddie brock was praying to God to kill spider-man at, trying to take off the symbiote suit with the church bell. After he does it Eddie Brock now knows that peter is spider-man when the symbiote falls on his jacket. he tries to take it off but it wont come off, he then THROWS his jacket away in hopes of getting away from the strange material but it keeps coming onto him, he then falls to the ground and becomes venom...i dont know, this seems to add to it being real to me.

Okay, anyone feeling feisty [or in the mood for a fiesta, since the spelling is so similar (sorry, I am tired and these are the best jokes I can come up with right now, but notice I still use proper parentheses)] and wanting to argue pointlessly about the Venom footage from a few months back can take this as an informal warning to stop.
Any further arguements about it will result in formal warnings and the other stuff on the conduct scale that the board follows.
We've talked about the validity of that footage way too much in this thread and it is time to stop.
Back to talking about things with Spidey 3, anyone have a guess as to how Peter gets the symbiote suit (since we have a pretty good idea as to how Eddie gets it)? Since they are not going to do Secret Wars they really can't go with the comic story. I like the way the 90's cartoon handled it with the symbiote being goo that was stuck to a space shuttle that Spider-man rescued the crew of. They did a great job of adapting a story that was pretty heavily tied into other continuities to be stand-alone.
Personally, I think that the symbiote is formed by old food left in the Peter's refrigerator that mutates into a semi-sentient life-form. This could be from some mystical food like Kung Pow Chicken or Chicken McNuggets.
