I hope to get one in the next couple of months. Some sweet looking games have been coming out. Still just rocking the old ps2 for now.

I want it for one reason: Oblivion. I want that game in the worst way. The previous in that series, Morrowind, is one of my all-time favorite games. I've never played a game so much before or since, and I still play it more than anything else. Oblivion looks like it moves things to the next level in every respect. I'm still gonna wait until the price of the 360 comes down, though. Right now I have an Xbox, a Gamecube, an N64, and an NES. That's plenty to keep me occupied. My next purchase will be a PS2, once the price drops to $99.99. Probably at the end of the year, when PS3 comes out. I want that system mainly for Guitar Hero.

What little I have played the 360 hasn't been enough for me to drop the money on it. Like Drunken Fist, I want a PS2 whenever the price drops. There have been too many games go exclusive to that that I really want (Metal Gear 3, Soul Calibur 3, Guitar Hero).

Yeah, the PS2 is rumored to retail anywhere from $600-800 when it debuts. I think Sony is really shooting themselves in the foot here. They're hell-bent on making the PS3 Blueray compatible, rather than DVD, and that's the biggest factor driving the price up. Sure, your hardcore Playstation gamers will buy it, and I'm sure it'll be a hot sell-out item this holiday season, but casual gamers-- like me-- are not gonna shell out that much cash for a game system. I won't be at all surprised to see Sony lose their #1 position because of this.

I'm happy with my regular X-Box although I wish Guitar Hero and Soul Calibur III were going to released on X-Box too.
On of my favorite games is Flat Out. It's the best driving game ever.

I still haven't tried out XBox 360, but my brother played King Kong at Wal Mart and said it was very impressive. I like getting the latest wrestling games for Gamecube, but not much more. I don't think I'll ever buy even a $500 video game console. I remember the $200 Nintendo 64 being a big deal in 1996. At least it was for my brother and me trying saving up money.
I'm not keeping very up-to-date on video games quite like I did during the N64 era. This is probably a good thing considering how much they cost these days, and the fact that you drain hours upon hours playing them. I'd rather devote that time to sitting at the computer building a Batman database like a drone. ::yellowroll::

I'm definitely not what you can consider a hardcore gamer, either. I wait to buy games until the price drops below $20. I sometimes go weeks at a time without even touching a game. I just started playing my Xbox again this week, after about a month of not playing it. I finally decided to try and finish all the Crash events in Burnout 3. I don't like the races much, but I looooooove the crashes. I often top $1 million in damage in a single crash, and have even topped $2 million a few times. The road rage races are awesome, too. I was at a friend's house tonight, and I beat my personal record by getting 43 takedowns in one road rage race. I couldn't believe it.
Anyway, I'm rambling. I noticed the other day that the PS2 has dropped to $129.99. That's kinda weird, for them to shave only $20 off the price. They drop another $30, and they'll have me. The 360 is gonna have to drop at least $100 before I pick one up, though. I've got no problem waiting until next February, when I'll have some income tax refund money to blow. Hopefully, it'll be down by then.

I have Burnout 3 Takedown and I gota say I love the crashes too. I still like Flatout better it's a fully destructible enviroment and I've caused some great wrecks with the other cars. It also has a bonus of Demolition Derby in a stadium bowl with 3 different levels. I actually got my car to fly over the fence and the grandstands out of the stadium.

Personally, I'm leaning more toward the PS3, but I hear the price is going to be pretty high.
Burnout 3 Takedown is a great game, my brother had it a while back. I didn't play it very much, but what I did play I could tell it was a good game.
I'm trying to save up money for a PSP right now. But I have a pretty good ways to go before I have enough money. For a hand held, the graphics look unbelieveable. |

I've had my eye on Flatout for a while now. The price needs to come down another $10 though, heh. I don't like paying more than $20 for a game, although I'd probably buy it if I saw a used copy of it. I'm happy to hear it has destruction derby mode, though. That's my one major gripe with Burnout 3. I only like driving games that involve destruction, hence, I love demoliton derbies. We used to get a bunch of friends rounded up and play Demoliton Racer on my buddy's old Playstation for hours. Later, I got Destruction Derby on the N64, which also had the feature. None of the driving games I've gotten for the Xbox have had the feature. Knowing this, I'll probably wind up with a copy of Flatout within a few days. Particularly since I have a couple of crappy games to trade in.

If you like Demolition Derby you will love Flatout.
There are three different racing levels Bronze, Silver and Gold each with their own tracks and cars that you can modify along the way. There are 36 tracks (12 per level) and they are; race track, small town, off road, off road ice and snow, off road gravel construction site. There are 16 different cars (5 or 6) for each level and they can be modified as you earn points/money along the way.
They also take on real damage and fly apart. You?ll lose a hood nearly every race and maybe fenders and doors too on most races. Wreck too hard and your driver flies out of the car. The same is true for the other cars. Along the races there are jumps, shortcuts, and buildings, signs and other vehicles to avoid or crash other cars into. It?s a fully destructible environment; if you drive through a barn the hole you create is there on the next lap. Take out some signs, tire barriers or barrels and they are moved along and scattered about as other cars also hit them.
There are three Demolition Derby Arenas (1 per level) as well as other bonus games like bowling, high jump and darts, where the object is to launch your driver out of the car as far and fast as you can. There is also a Demolition Race that changes per level. Bronze has a simple Oval, while Silver a Figure 8 track, where you can hit other cars off the jump in the middle. Gold is insane with a ?Dogbone? styled track where you race both ways down the same straightway to circle ends. The straightway is all whoop-dee-doos as you bounce and jump all over the place trying to not get hit head on.
I?ve done 32 of the races and have 1 track still to unlock. These last 4 tracks on the Gold level are really tough. Flatout 2 is due out soon and I can?t wait.

Dammit, I'm convinced. I'm gonna take a couple of games to trade in at Gamestop, then just pay the difference, if any. I'm wrapping up Burnout 3 anyway, so I need another destruction race game.
