It was awesome, but I hated it. I want to see the robots. It looks like it will be a great movie, but it is so frustrating to not get to see even one of them yet.
I love the eye (probably Megatron's) looking over the Earth on the main page. This should be pretty cool. Too bad we have to wait a year.

I agree DK.. I wanted to see at least one. I just hope the thing is good, I mean, it's taking what? two and a half yearss to film Spidey 3, yet only 1 to fllm Transformers?? Thats a little weird.. but still, looks to be another great movie summer next year.

Anyone who's seen my model collection (or my desk here, where I have a complete collection of year 1 & year 2 Autobot cars) knows that the Transformers are right up there with Batmobiles for me. I'm really looking forward to this movie, and have no intention of remaining spoiler-free |

Really? I'm surprised, I thought the teaser was excellent. I'm actually with Cale; the way they did it gives one the chills. |

Pretty much what is expected from the bits and pieces that have leaked out. I may have gone for a bit more "solid" look in bot mode were I designing them, but I think these will work fine (especially after seeing them in the last trailer). |

the teaser was so so imo but the trailer blew me away! I can't wait to see these cars on the big screen and with the effects now and days, it's going to be amazing!

So is this going to be set outside of the current Transformers timeline (if such a thing even exists?)
Last thing I saw was the animated movie - in which Prime died, so does he regenerate or something? Or is this before all that? Or is it just a complete lack of continuity? Or have I just remembered that completely incorrectly? (it's been years since I've watched Transformers - I liked it a lot for a while, but I often thought there was possibly a bit too much going on)
Confused from Shadow of St Albans Abbey.............
I must admit, that looks SCARY!

The short version:
This is an all-new continuity, like Batman Begins was to the Burton/Schumacher series.
The long version:
After the orignal TF movie, Prime actually was brought back a couple of times thanks to the angry feedback over his original death. However, since then there have been several other series. In the 1990s, there was Generation 2, made of rerun TV episodes, a new comic series, and some new & repainted toys; this was based on the original series, but set later. Then there was Machine Wars, which was a toy line only and belonged to no existing continuity. Finally, there was Beast Wars, a series based on robots that turned into animals. This had a toy line and a cartoon series, and was hailed by many as one of (if not the) best version of the TFs ever written. It took place in the same universe as the original series, but at a completely different point in history. This series led into Beast Machines, which also had a toy line and cartoon series. Japan took a slightly different route, and created Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo to follow Beast Wars.
After Beast Wars/Beast Machines, a new series called Robots in Disguise was imported from Japan (where it went under the name Car Robots, complete with new toys, a new cartoon, and a new continuity. This was sort of a filler before the next series, Transformers: Armada. Armada once again had all new toys, a new cartoon, a new comic, and its own continuity. It was part of a trilogy of shows that would include Transformers: Energon and Transformers: Cybertron. Cybertron just finished its run a short time ago (the toys are still in stores), and the current series is Transformers: Classics - a toy line only, that serves as a filler before the movie toys hit the shelves. Also, since 2003 there has been a line of toys called Alternators in the US and Binaltech in Japan: the American toys were not part of any continuity, but the Japanese toys were kind of awkwardly refit into the original series from the '80s. This continuity has been sort of picked up by American audiences as well.
Adding to all of the confusion are a few other lines: Superlink, Robotmasters, Galaxy Force, Beast Wars Returns, Timelines, and Universe, to name a few. In other words, the TF continuity is pretty much shot as badly as Batman's is. |

Spencer..........
Here's the short answer - excellent!
The longer version; I've often wondered how they coped after the death of OP. I always thougth that was nonsense; admittedly without ever losing any sleep over it! (as opposed to Death In The Family for example; where I voted NO!)
Cheers for the info - I'm looking forward to this. The trailers look frightening! I think I'm going to have to get some Transformers DVDs. I remember I loved the Top Gun(esque) soundtrack to the original movie so I might get that............
