who are your possibilities to play wonder woman big grin

Wonder Woman wrote:
In all honesty I have no one in mind. I don't think anyone in Hollywood (right now) meets every criteria to play Diana. I don't care if the person is the best actress, she has to resemble the Amazon Princess to a great degree, but then again she has to have a decent ability to act.

What I am seriously worried about is that Josh will pick someone who doesn't fit the part (physically and mentally). I've heard so many rumors about actresses that just cannot be Wondy that it makes me cringe. I understand people are fans of actors but c'mon, Sarah Michelle Gellar cannot play Wondy, no matter how much a fan thinks she could pull it off.

I hope they find an unknown to portray her.

uh, i say a new person, and sarah michelle gillar sounds aweful

jessica alba............well thats all i ca n think of

FlaBat wrote:
Angelina Jolie is great choice, good looks action movie quality and she was Lara Kroft, so she should be able to please the fanboys, not to mention she looks like Wonder Woman

Catherine Bell would be high on my list too, but she?s never had a staring role in a big budget film. I liked her in JAG and she certainly looks like Wonder Woman too.

My guess is it will be an unknown or little known. Look at Batman Begins and Superman Returns and I think I see a trend for DC properties as they become films.

Beyond wrote:
I love Jessica Alba, however, shes not the person for the role.

Angelina Jolie would be a good choice, but how old is she? I do agree that they will go with an unknown.

wonderboy99 wrote:
hmm angelina jolie ,can anyone make a manip of either jessica or angelina:wink:

Darknight wrote:
I've always liked the ideas of Jennifer Connelly or Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role. Both are Oscar winners, but with Halle Berry in Catwoman we saw what can happen when they put Oscar winners in superhero movies. I am a little torn between an unknown and a known. Isn't this supposed to be released next year? It would seem like we would have some kind of announcements by now. The recent Wizard had a sidebar, but nothing really informative was in it. They seem to be getting good at not telling us things recently.

Jessica Alba was bad enough in Fantastic Four, let's keep her out of Wonder Woman.

wonderboy99 wrote:
u thought she was bad in ff shame on u and i think connely wud be good cuz i liked her in hulk and she wud be a very attractive WW.

to bad shes older now

alissa malano as donna troy/wondergirl
catherine bell

any 1 like em?

FlaBat wrote:
Catherine Zeta Jones (37), might not be too bad, but I think she?s older than what they would be looking for. Although Catherine Bell (38) is older, but Angelina Jolie (31) is younger.

The more I thought about it, the more I thought about Denise Richards (35) or maybe everybody?s favorite Borg, Jeri Ryan (38).

So, there aren?t any 20 Something?s out there to compare to these gals?

Beyond wrote:
I think they will go the unknown route..

And I think they will want a 20 something year old.. lets face it, if they do a 3 pic deal, with 2 to 3 years a peice, and they go with a 35 year old.. right there is 10 years added to em.

Not that older women can't act or are any less sexy.. just in this type of movie, I think younger is what they will be looking for.

wonderboy99 wrote:
i hope they dont get a really skinny person or a person that is too buff

FlaBat wrote:
Well Wonder Woman is an Amazon afterall. The DC Comics Encyclopedia has this.

Wonder Woman

Height: 6ft
Weight: 165
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black.

Well then Kristie Alley (55) it is:bigeek:

wonderboy99 wrote:
uhh no

You can't take the weights they give to women to reality. This is Fairchild of Gen13 (redhead in the front of the picture).

She weighs 300 lbs. She carries it really well though. I can't figure out how they would get 165 for Wonder Woman, but I guess her molecular structure would have to be dense to make her super strong.

FlaBat wrote:
It's a joke, get it?

How many 165lb actresses do you think there are in Hollywood :bigeek:

Steve Trevor wrote:
Brunette goddess,CARMEN ELECTRA!!! Electra is the newest Max Factor Cosmetics spokesperson and has really started to assert herself as an actress appearing in films such as Cheaper by the Dozen 2. She is a highly skilled gymnast, dancer, and martial artist which would allow her to be belivable in performing the stunts and fight scences.

Carmen Electra is hot no doubt about it, but she's 34 on April 20, so I think she's out of consideration

Jessica Simpson will be 26 on July 10, so maybe she has a better shot at this than some of the others.

Beyond wrote:
You didn't just say Jessica Simpson.. OMG! :bigeek::bigeek:

Have you seen the Dukes? she has like 4 lines.. THATS ALL!

I say go back to Angelna Jolie.. shes only 30.. tall.. hot, can kick ass.. stupid casue shes with Pitt.. but thats besides the piont...

Yes, I did. No I have not seen her in the new Dukes movie and maybe never will. I doubt she would get the part, but I found it hard to find 20 somethings that would fit the role.

Jolie would be perfect I think.

Hardcopi wrote:
It will probably be Jolie, but once again I think she has too much character and not enough presence. (BTW I think the same thing about Superman. I think Routh doesn't look like Superman).

Wonder Woman AND Superman should look out of place in normal clothes. WW is an amazon. She should look statuesque and imposing almost in normal clothes. (Yes still ultra hot). I think they would be better off finding a 5'10" or taller unknown actress/model.

Julie Strain, Six - Foot - One & Worth the Climb, has expressed interest in the role. The amazonian beauty has appeared in countless action/adventure/sci-fi/fantasy films, inspiring the launch of a comic book style film and video game, the actress is no stranger to the genre. Mrs. Co - creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is currently enrolled in acting lessons for those skeptical of the ?B? movie queen?s talents and she has an acting coach who assists her in preparing for roles. Strain is quite athletic in high school she ran track and played basketball. The real life superheroine is a trained martial artist to boot. And as if her height, talent, and athletic ability were not enough Strain is a pin - up queen which is enough to satisfy any fanboy!

I never heard of her. She has the size, height and otherwise, but I think she's a long shot at best.

For someone to be six feet tall and weigh 165, that's pretty normal, actually.

Look, I'm about a size 8-10, and I'm 5'5". No one thinks I'm fat, and I weigh 150. People are astonished when I tell them that. But I'm on my feet walking all day and so I have a fair amount of muscle tone in my legs. A six foot tall woman weighing 165 would be reasonable. She'd also be about a size 6 at the largest. No, she won't be a supermodel, but supermodels are basically meant to be walking clothes hangers for what they wear. And I'd like Wonder Woman to at least look like she could kick my ass. Smile

GMan2 wrote:
I always liked the possibility of Catherine Zeta Jones playing the part, but she's expressed numerous times that she wouldn't do it. She's afraid that if she did, she'd get type casted to the part much like Linda Carter has.

didnt know whether to start a new thread or not but here are some news about the possibilities:

"TVGuide.com: Hey, are you going to star in Wonder Woman? [Buffy creator Joss Whedon is writing and will direct a big-screen take on the superheroine, to be produced by Joel Silver.] What a great fit that would be.
Carpenter: I know! From your lips to God's ears... or Joss'... or Joel's....

TVGuide.com: Another baby?
Carpenter: I'd like to eventually, but I want Wonder Woman right now. I'm not holding my breath but I'm crossing my fingers and toes and praying."

that comes from comingsoon.net

I really like the idea of Charisma Carpenter! I think she's such a good actress that she might be able to pull it off.

I think looks-wise, Kelly Brook would be fantastic (5ft8, dark hair, natural beauty, athletic and womanly-definitely-not-emaciated-figure) She's had some acting experience and is only 25. There ya go! Most of the criteria fulfilled already!

I've suggested this on a couple of boards but not here yet...I think Aishwarya Rai would make a sexy, intelligent, perfect Wonder Woman.

Okay I've just lost a post somehow, so if it appears elsewhere, looking completely random, then I apologise!

I think you're right Bishopj, Aishwarya is bloody lovely! SHe's quite tall too (5'7) which is a plus...

So here are my top three choices;

1 Kelly brook (sorry but everytime I see her in magazines or on TV, i cant help but wonder what she'd look like with a tiara on!:yesSmile

2 Aishwarya Rai

3 Charisma Carpenter

But I'm open to persuasion!

Ms. Lynda 'Wonder Woman' Carter is making a comeback!! The superheroine queen recently appeared in the Disney film Sky High training the heroes of tomorrow as Principal Powers, she headlined Chicago : The Musical as sultry Mama Morton in the London stage production, vamped it up as half of a mother - daughter grifter duo opposite Estella Warren in Law & Order and Law & Order : SVU, finally, the Amazonian beauty will star in Sci-Fi's Slayer as a vampire battling colonel!

LYNDA CARTER IS WONDER WOMAN!!!!

Sci Fi Star Talks Tough
Wednesday, December 06, 2000

Whether on-screen or off, don't go messing with Michelle Lintel. The sexy star kicks butt as the superheroine of the new Sci Fi Channel series Black Scorpion (debuting Jan. 5), and spends her downtime practicing the Krav Maga self-defense techniques of the Israeli military. The former Miss Kansas is performing most of her own stunts in Black
Scorpion, playing an ex-cop who dons a mask and fights a bizarre cast of Batman-like villains. The role is a dream come true for Lintel, who's never lost her childhood love for the cartoon superhero Wonder Woman.

"I always admired Wonder Woman because she was so strong," says Lintel, a long-time martial arts aficionado who is proficient in Tae Kwon Do. "My office is like a Wonder Woman shrine. For my birthday this year, I got more Wonder Woman stuff than I could possibly dream of."

The showbiz newcomer says her next goal is to become a sort of female Arnold Schwarzenegger on the big screen. "I want to get out there and kick some more ass, basically," she says with a laugh, adding, "But in a good way!" Spoken like a true superhero. -- Rich Brown

Hey there ST!

I'm soon gonna have to do myself a top 10... I think she's a really really good choice. I'm still hankering after Kelly Brooks in the old double doublya but I wouldn't have a conniption fit if they cast Michelle in the role. And didn't Joss Whedon say he wanted someone who could do loads of stunts and stuff without the aid of doubles and padding? Sounds like she'd be pretty handy to have around in a fight, at least! I think maybe we should all think up a good, comprehensive list of people and sling them Joss 's way, see if he takes the hint!

can sum 1 manipulate her into WW

No one mentioned in this thread is either 1) The Right Age or 2) The Right Look or 3) Both 1 and 2, like she should be.

The closest is Jolie, but she's too big a name and would eclipse the character. Plus, she doesn't really look exotic.

I love Charisma, but she looks too much like the girl next door and not a princess from an exotic island.

My pick is still Morena Baccarin, and since she worked with Whedon on "Firefly" and "Serenity" and she's only 27 I think she's got the best shot out of anyone presently.

Plus her acting is great and she's got a natural grace about her that would be very fitting. I've pretty much got my mind set on her.

Too bad that what I think doesn't matter. :P

I think Monica has the best chance also seeing as Joss is very loyal to all the actors he works with and he has stated he favor's Monica's looks for WW. Personally I would love to see Charisma but I think Kelly could pull off the look as well. If you don't know who she is, she was Lex Luthor's italian fiance who was just doing what her father told her to take over lex corp in season 2. I think? anyway look at the images:embarrassedhttp://www.angelfire.com/scifi/DukeOfDeception/

Awww...! Thanks for posting the Kely pic Duke. I never got to see her in Smallville so I dont know how she came across or anything but I've seen her on a couple of shows here in the UK and she seems like a cool actress. Looking at her dressed in the WW outfit, it's only reaffirmed my belief that she'd AT LEAST look the part! If they're gonna go with a more established actress then I too would love to see Charisma in the part as I think despite her age, she could bring a youthfulness to the character. She managed to pull off being a 16 year old when she was well into her 20's so with a few misty close ups I think she'd have it in the bag! As for Morena Bacharin (I hope thats how you spell it), I personally cant see it. Yup, she's really pretty, but in my opinion I think she looks like she'd get carried away in a stiff wind. Not wanting or meaning to offend anyone of course.

All I hope is that they get an actress who is a six foot + Goddess that can act.
