A few months ago Warner Bros. announced that they had launched a new Direct-to-DVD Animation division that would be producing two Superman related projects in 2007.
Superman: Doomsday
In an epic tale of sacrifice, Superman battles an intergalactic serial killer in a superpowered Armageddon - "Superman: Doomsday".
After Superman makes the ultimate sacrifice to save Metropolis by giving his life to defeat the foe, those who loved him the most mourn their fallen hero and friend. But a world without Superman proves to be short-lived when the Man of Steel mysteriously returns. Or does he?
Based on the best-selling graphic novel of all time, The Death of Superman.
Director: Duane Capizzi
Producer: Bruce Timm
Release Date: Sep 2007

i heard about that. i'm sure the animation will be fantastic. its gnna be based on the art in the graphic novel, so it should look better than the animated series we've already seen. not that theyre bad, but this will be more...realistic? i guess i should just say more comic-like, and less cartoony.
and theres also gnna be the new frontier, and teen titans:the judas contract. i'm gnna love all of these.

They are going to make 2 other direct to dvd movies from the comics, other than the death of superman. They are doing teen titans: the judas contract, and New Frontier. That's cool, even though I haven't read either of those!! Heres and article on it:

I hope they do a Batman movie. Maybe The Killing joke. They could continue where they left off.
Is Nightwing in the judas contract? That will make it good!!

"Superman:Doomsday" is supposed to be released September 2007. "Justice League:New Beginnings" is supposed to be released Fall 2007. This is according to the Superman Homepage.

I just found this from dccomics.com http://www.dccomics.com/news/?nw=6583 It says they are releasing 2-3 of these animated films per year, so they must be planning on more than these 3!!

Oh, come on. That costume is awesome. It is such a great cross between the Robin and Batman suits. It was a great metaphor showing that Dick was in transition from sidekick to hero.

The part I really hate about that costume is that Elvis collar!! Everything else isn't bad.

If you're talking about this one it isn't that bad.

I've always thought of him as a bird-type... just because he was originally robin and it would make more sense..
"I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me"

Wow, if what the Superman Homepage says is true, than it looks like we'll have to wait awhile for these movies, ah well.
I really do want to see a Batman animated movie really close to the comics, really dark and real serious. The Killing Joke would be pretty cool I guess.
