It looks like we don't have to worry about the New Gods story though:

http://blog.newsarama.com/2007/11/18/wizard-world-texas-day-two/#more-6157

DiDio was also asked about the recent internet rumors that Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman will become New Gods. He answered: “Oh God, that’s a bad idea!”

Also is there a light showing up on anyone's copmputer next to the latest rumor? I don't see anything lit up on my machine.

i wont even like that fact b/c Batman to me is a Character that is best alive and doesnt have a death in his past, it shows that even know hes a man, he is one of the best heroes ever. It just says something like that ya know?

My beliefe is that Batman, as Alex Ross put it in the notes for Kingdom Come, is the world's most forceful will. Killing him is basically saying "There will never be any hope for mankind" Even if they bring him back, it still defeats the purpose of the character.

Anyway, I heard that if it is happening then Jason Todd will become Batman... WTF!!!!!!!!!! It's like Batman said in Hush, Tim Drake is the only Robin that stood a chance at becoming Batman.

Really, who do they have writting this stuff? They just got rid of A-hole Batman, and so they're replacing him with the biggest A-hole in the supporting cast?

The way I see it, they have already did their big stunt with Batman back in Knightfall. Superman Died. Batman's back was broke. in some way, that was worse than killing him.

but, time will tell.

what are u talking about if u really want to know what i think its that everyone will think hes dead and the big stunt will be seeing how he escapes in a flashback proving hes better than everyone gives him credit for establishing his role as the most resistant hero in DC

that was a pretty big run-on sentence. haha.

i do believe that if bruce were to "die," tim should be the one to take his place until he comes back...but tim's still a kid. i can't imagine a teenager running around in a batsuit being called batman...all the bad guys would know it's robin; might as well stay robin.

thats what i was thinking too. batman beyond deserves its place in comics! if it were up to me, i'd have tim drake be the first to wear the bat suit, and have terry come in later. and i guess tim drake could take the role of bruce wayne being the computer guy when he's older...assuming that bruce will die. but i hope he doesnt.

A teenage Batman would work, if it was a different story line.

Beyond wouldn't work with a dead Batman simply because Batman Beyond was a team. Sure Terry did the footwork and a lot of the thinking, but Bruce was always there helping him.

if i didnt make sense in my last post, i tried to say tim would do the helping(pretty much replacing bruce). after tim gets old as batman, terry would be there to be batman.

and i totally forgot terry was a teenager when he was batman. lol. so yeah! i'm all for tim being batman. and give him the beyond suit...okay now i know where chris was going with this.

I know you mean he'll become Batman now and then aid Terry, but the problem I'm getting at is that a teenage Batman needs Bruce as a mentor. If Tim becomes Batman, and Bruce is dead, then who's mentoring Tim?

tim doesnt need one. he's already a good detective. he's already in the teen titans, that's all the help he really needs. thats what i think anyway.

Well, another week, another new Batman Death rumor.

THE LATEST:

Oh and Dead Batman/Todd Batman/God Bruce Wayne? So not happening. You can still expect a status-challenging new scenario, still expect Alex Ross covers and designs, still expect some intricately complex yet instantly entertaining Morrisonia, just, expect something else. Did Internet reaction affect this? Not one jot it seems. All decisions are taking place at a much higher level, and Warner Bros. have made their feelings known.

I am a little relieved, but at least it did get some people posting in the comics section. Also click the link above (red text) to read the full blurb. There is some information in there about what is possibly happening to the All Star titles and Countdown. Pretty interesting stuff, if it is true.

I'm just trying to get my head (and mouth) round the concept (and word!) Morrisonia. Try saying it out loud.

Completely unrelated to the Death Of Batman (or not); If you read the Z-Cult threads (following on from the news in DKs link), they're being careful about they say, but I'm not exactly sure what they expect! You don't need to be a genius to work out DC & Marvel aren't going to give their stuff away. On the odd occasion that such things (and web addresses) have been discussed here, Chris has instantly come down on it - so what attitude do they think DC & Marvel should take??? Just seems daft they thought it wouldn't incur their (potential) legal wrath.
