SYNOPIS:
Superboy’s anger over his non-relationship with Superman is getting out of control. He refuses to train with Black Canary, and when the team faces an opponent that even the Justice League had trouble defeating, the Boy of Steel goes rogue.
In Metropolis, a school bus is crossing a bridge when the support cables snap. The bus crashes into the side along with the other vehicles, and falls partway over the edge. At nearby Wayne Industries, Bruce Wayne is watching and prepares to go into action. However, Superman arrives first and supports the bridge while making repairs. Superboy arrives moments later and grabs the school bus, but is unable to hold it. Superman takes it from him, and then warns that they don't know the limits of Superboy's power. When Superboy suggests Superman might help him train, Superman insists that Batman has it handled and hastily flies away on another Justice League alert. As he goes, Bruce calls and tells him that they need to talk.
At Mount Justice, Aqualad and Kid Flash are playing a game when Superboy arrives, but he refuses to discuss what happened. Black Canary and Martian Manhunter arrive and Miss Martian greets her uncle. Superboy prepares to leave, but Black Canary tells him to stay and begins the training session. She explains that they need to always act, not react, and asks for a sparring partner. Kid Flash volunteers and she quickly takes him down, and then explains that she dictated the terms. Superboy insists that his powers let him dictate the terms, and Black Canary invites him to prove it. They square off against each other and then Black Canary redirects his momentum and knocks him to the floor. Angry, he charges at her and she knocks him down again. Superboy prepares to leave, but Black Canary tells him that training is mandatory.
Batman calls and informs them that first Green Arrow and Black Canary, and then the rest of the League, battled an android with the ability to duplicate the powers of the entire League. They eventually defeated it, split up its parts, and plan to send them in two trucks to two different cities. Batman wants them to go undercover and accompany the trucks, while four other trucks act as decoys. The team speculates who created the android, and considers the possibility that Professor Ivo is responsible despite the fact he's believed dead. Superboy is disgusted at the thought of taking out the League's "trash," but Batman insists. As they leave, Black Canary tells Superboy that she'll be there for him when he needs her.
In Litchfield County, Superman and the other League members load up the two trucks and send them out with the four decoys. Young Justice follows them on motorcycles, while Batman asks Superman to wait and finish their earlier talk.
As Robin and Superboy follow one of the trucks, Superboy complains that Black Canary has no business training him, but Robin insists that she and Batman have trained to fight super-powered opponents.
The other team discusses Superboy's actions, and Aqualad figure that a quiet mission will give Superboy time to cool off. Suddenly, flying green robot monkeys emerge from the nearby cornfield and leap at the truck. Robin and Superboy confirm that similar robots have attacked their truck. The two heroes board the truck and try to knock the robot monkeys off, but Superboy is quickly overwhelmed, lifted into the air, and tossed off the truck, blinded by an energy blast. Using his superhearing, he leaps off in pursuit of the truck.
The trio moves in on the truck as the robot monkeys burn a hole in the side. Miss Martian and Kid Flash knock them away from the sides and top, while Aqualad uses his water whips to knock more of the robots away. Miss Martian grows extra arms to fight, startling Kid Flash and the driver, and the monkeys manage to escape with the crate containing the android parts.
Superboy leaps back onto the truck as the monkeys destroy the wheels. Robin gets the driver out as the truck rolls over. The robots escape with the second crate of parts and Superboy, still partly blinded, leaps after them in pursuit. Robin tells Aqualad what's happening, but Superboy ignores their leader's signal and tosses away his radio. The others realize that Professor Ivo is one step ahead of them, and consider contacting Red Tornado. Aqualad notes that Red Tornado always told them to fend for themselves. Robin realizes that the parts have GPS, and he taps into one of the destroyed robots. They confirm that the monkey robots are heading for Gotham City. Aqualad sends Kid Flash to pick up Robin while he and Miss Martian head on as fast they can.
In Metropolis, Bruce meets with Clark and suggests that Superboy needs him. Clark insists that he's just annoying Superboy, but Bruce insists that he needs a father. Clark insists that he's not Superboy's father and leaves.
The robot monkeys take the two boxes of android parts to a speeding train outside of Gotham City. Superboy arrives and smashes his way in, and finds Professor Ivo waiting. He sends his robot units, his MONQIs after Superboy, and they delay him long enough for Ivo to activate the android, Amazo. It knocks down Superboy with a blast of Captain Atom's energy. Superboy dares the android to attack, but Ivo notes that his android has the strength of Superman. The teenager attacks Amazo, which easily knocks him down and then hits him with a blast of Black Canary's sonic scream. Amazo then punches Superboy hundreds of times with the Flash's speed, and turns intangible with Martian Manhunter's powers. The android knocks Superboy outside and then off the train and into a nearby school. Ivo orders Amazo to finish off the hero.
Robin approaches Gotham as Kid Flash arrives, and they confirm that the parts are heading toward Robin's school.
Amazo continues to smash Superboy through the school, and the teen hero is unable to mount a defense. They end up in the gym, where Ivo watches from the bleachers to observe the finale. Kid Flash arrives and moves Superboy away, but Amazo uses Red Tornado's powers to knock them back. The heroes try to strike back but the android is always one step ahead of them. As they fight, someone shoots an arrow from the shadows, briefly distracting Amazo and forcing him to dematerialize to avoid it. Superboy finally gets an idea, while Ivo dismisses them as poor copies of the original. The hero seemingly loses control of his temper and leaps at Ivo. Ivo tells the android to protect him, and Robin and Kid Flash go after him. When it goes after them, Superboy punches it in the head just as it dematerializes and then solidifies, and its head explodes. As Aqualad and Miss Martin arrive, they realize that Ivo has escaped.
Later, the Young Justice team brief Black Canary and Martian Manhunter. Batman arrives and admits that their actions impressed the League, but warns Superboy it will take for Superman to come around. Robin shows them the arrow and accuses them of secretly babysitting them, but Green Arrow demonstrates that it's not his arrow. The teens conclude that Speedy was watching over them. Meanwhile, Superboy goes to Black Canary and says that he's ready.
