Renée stops by Gotham City PD to see if Flay had may his way to Gotham yet. Montoya doesn't stick around to reminisce about old times for too long though when she finds out that Flay is attempting to auction off a rare copy of the Black Book at the Iceberg Lounge!
She goes to visits Kate Kane and asks for help to find the book before it is sold. The duo track down a member of the religion and force him to take them to auction and buy it for them. When they get it, Kate wants to burn the book, but Renée needs to the book for more knowledge. The two fight over the book. Renée tells Kate she is doing it for her. Kate tells her she should’ve asked what she wanted. Kate then lets Renée have it and walks away.
While leaving Gotham, Renée opens the book and finds it blank except for one page, which reads: “The word is not for you. Yet.”
