PLOT:
Japan's fascination with the super-hero culture is never more apparent than when the Super Young Team comes to town. Using their status as super heroes to gain them access to a hip club, the team scoffs at members of the old guard such as Rising Sun who criticize them for their superficial ways.

Their attentions are temporarily diverted from themselves however when the legendary Sonny Sumo enters the club. Stepping up to the bar and attempting to mind his own business, Sonny is soon accosted by Megayakuza. After barely batting an eyelash as Megayakuza fires his flame gun at point blank range, Sonny simply turns around and rips Megayakuza's heart directly out of his chest, leaving the still beating organ behind inside a high ball glass.

After retreating to the rest room to nurse his wounds, Sonny is once again accosted by a stranger. This time however, his visitor is none other than Shiloh Norman, Mr. Miracle! Shiloh produces the Motherboxxx from his pocket and Sonny's burn scars immediately fade away. He looks in awe as Shiloh tells him how evil has won the war in the heavens and now he is trying to put together a team to battle the forces of evil - starting with Sonny Sumo. As Sumo considers this, Super Young Team members Most Excellent Superbat, Big Atomic Lantern Boy, Shiny Happy Aquazon and Well-Spoken Sonic Lightning Flash timidly approach their hero for an autograph.

Back in America, former Monitor Nix Uotan remembers his previous existence as a Monitor only as a series of vivid dreams. While working his life away at a Big Belly Burger he finds himself desperately seeking out the one word that could perhaps bring his past life back to him...

While the Justice League holds funeral services for the Martian Manhunter, Libra finds himself still unable to convince Lex Luthor to join his cause. Luthor challenges Libra - taking out the Martian was nothing, if he is really all that powerful, he should prove himself by attacking Superman! As Luthor exits the club he confides in Vandal Savage that he and Sivana feel that someone should stand up against Libra before he recruits the loyalty of every power hungry Z-lister around!

Left to consider his new challenge, Libra takes his original convert Human Flame back inside to discuss just exactly what his payment will be in return for killing the Martian Manhunter.

At the Hall of Justice, Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman find themselves receiving assistance from Alpha Lantern Kraken. Kraken does not seem impressed at all by her subordinates' time spent with this "local crimefighting club."

Batman theorizes that the markings (or lack thereof) on Orion's corpse would suggest that he was shot by a bullet that perhaps was traveling back in time. He tells Kraken that John Stewart is already on the scene looking for the bullet. Kraken does not seem pleased that yet another Green Lantern is spending his time playing detective with the Earth heroes.

John Stewart does in fact locate a bullet of sorts. Buried beneath the concrete where Orion's body was found, Stewart excavates a purple crystal looking bullet which his ring is unable to identify. The ring begins throwing out warnings before eventually going dead. Before he can react to this strange development, John is attacked by his colleague Opto (or someone inhabiting the body of Opto) who laughs maniacally while impaling John to the wall using his Green Lantern ring. As a last ditch effort to save himself, John attempts to throw one final punch at his attacker but it is met in mid swing by Opto's palm.

Shortly thereafter, Hal Jordan is awakened by a team of Lanterns who crash into his bed room and arrest him for John Stewart's attempted murder. His ring and privileges are revoked while the matter is investigated.

As word of Hal's situation reaches the league, Batman finds himself alone at the Hall of Justice with Kraken. While further investigating Orion's corpse, Kraken appears to have a temporary mental breakdown and begs Batman to help her! Batman notices John Stewart's ring imprint on Kraken's hand and he realizes that something is wrong with the situation.

He rushes to grab Kraken while calling for a Black Alert to close down the Hall of Justice. Unfortunately it is all a bit too late. Kraken too is in fact possessed by one of the evil Gods and opens up a Boom Tube to take Batman to Granny Goodness as a new play-thing.

Meanwhile, Dan Turpin somehow has found himself at the apartment of the Mad Hatter. After beating Hatter within an inch of his life and finding himself unable to consciously stop himself from doing so, Turpin makes his pilgrimage to the ruins of Blüdhaven where he meets Reverend Good.

As Good takes Turpin into the Command D bunker, Turpin realizes that there is someone besides himself currently residing in his head - Darkseid himself! Reverend Good tells Turpin/Darkseid of their plans to gather up all of the 'primitive strongmen' of Earth while Batman, strapped into some sort of torture device, begs the Detective to warn the Justice League! "They're Coming to Get us All!"

Superman (completely oblivious to Batman's situation now that the League is without Jonn's telepathic link) is putting in an appearance as Clark Kent at the Daily Planet. While discussing the day's events with Perry and Lois, Clark notices something strange about Jimmy Olsen. Before he can do anything, Olsen (actually Clayface in disguise) has reached the elevator. Shortly after Clayface exits, the entire floor of the Daily Planet explodes in a huge ball of flames that lights up the darkening sky of Metropolis! Superman shouts out his wife's name while frantically searching the wreckage for Lois!

Finally, Jay and Wally find themselves acting on a tip from Batman. Investigating the site of a strange seismic pulse at around the exact time of Martian Manhunter's death, the Scarlet Speedsters find themselves at the strip club hideout of Libra and his cult. After determining all of the artifacts in the room to be cheap knockoffs, Wally theorizes that perhaps the plastic recreation of Metron's chair is actually the scope that fired the God Bullet back through time that killed Orion.

While taking a closer look at the chair, Jay recognizes some very familiar vibrations. Suddenly, in a flash of light they see their fallen comrade Barry Allen racing death itself as what appears to be another God Bullet travels just in front of him! "WALLY! JAY! EVERYBODY! RUN!"
