PLOT:
The power of the Wizard Shazam's corrupted champion Black Adam is now coursing through the veins of Mary Marvel. Her soul perverted by it's evil nature, she delivers an ultimatum to her brother Billy, himself once given the mighty power of Shazam.
Either he says the magic words and absorb a piece of Black Adam's tainted power from his sister or else she will crush the skull of Stargirl - the girl he has feelings for. Left with no other option, Billy Batson says the name of his mortal enemy and transforms
into a dark version of himself. The transference of power once begotten so long ago continues still...
The further drain on his power levels is barely registered by Black Adam who continues to wage war against the Justice Society alongside his re-incarnated wife Isis in the streets of
Kahndaq. Whereas Isis' arrival in Black Adam's life elicited a genuine change of heart in the Black champion, it would seem as though her re-incarnation has somehow warped her once loving personality. No longer the gracious
queen whose footsteps bloomed flowers wherever she went, Isis is so bent on removing the mark of man from her world that she even murders her own people after they come in contact with the 'outsiders' of the Justice Society. Seeing this, Black Adam asks the Justice Society to
help evacuate his people as he stands to challenge his wife but their battle is quickly broken up by the arrival of their spoiled and greedy 'children' Mary and Billy. Alan Scott is able to hold the various Black Marvel family members
away from each other but something drastic needs to be done immediately to fix this situation!
Intending to do just that is Jay Garrick who alongside Billy and Mary's father are racing through the mists towards the Rock of Finality where sits the Seven Virtues of Man. Jay Garrick, himself possessing
each one of these seven virtues is able to enter the Rock's sacred area but he must act quickly as Mr. Batson explains - before an unmentionable evil returns to the Rock. Batson, much like the Wizard himself, was lost on the
way to the afterlife, causing his soul to wander forever until he can complete four special tasks gaining him access to the afterlife. The third of these four tasks is freeing the Wizard - who after being destroyed by the Spectre,
was imprisoned inside a statue by the unmentionable force. Garrick and Batson arrive at the statue which stands next to another strange and haunting monument consisting of giant thorny branches warped into a shape covering some kind of entry.
The two grab the statue and race to take it to the site of the battle outside.
Once there, Mr. Batson confronts his murderer and forces him to take a look at what his anger has wrought him. While the Wizard Shazam would never have been able to revoke the power he gave Black Adam, the power could at any time
be given back willingly. Left with no other option, Theo Adam says the name of mighty Wizard and relinquishes his power. The statue crumbles and from inside of it the Wizard steps forward. Since the main source of Billy, Isis and Mary's power
has reverted back to him, the Wizard is able to revoke their power completely. All this time believing that a removal of his powers would cause Isis to return to her corpse state, Adam is shocked to see his beloved wife
still alive and well after becoming powerless. The two lovers race for one another but the Wizard Shazam intervenes. As punishment for their wicked ways he freezes them both as statues, forever just out of reach of one another. Billy Batson tries to
reason with the Wizard but he will not hear any of it. The Wizard expresses his disappointment in the young man before disappearing, vowing to deal with Freddy at a later date in time.
Everyone returns back to the states where the Justice Society calls an emergency meeting. The founding members have made their decision regarding the team's roster and everyone is staying. While the JSA has come to the realization that you
do not turn your back on family, Billy Batson and Mary are racing through the rainy streets of Fawcett city in search of their own. Billy goes from location to location trying to find access back to the Rock of Eternity - not to talk to the Wizard but rather to
find his father. The two arrive at the subway station entrance Billy had just used earlier only to find that it too has been closed off. Standing in the rain, the brother and sister embrace as Billy confesses that he no longer blames his sister nor himself
for all that has gone on.
Meanwhile, back in Kahndaq a bolt of lightning suddenly comes down from the sky, striking the spot where the Wizard once stood between the two frozen lovers. A creature in all black with glowing gold eyes slowly rises.
